DarMars: Ordered these grains and it was enough to make four 32ounce containers. Within a month it doubled in size and continues to multiply! Now I have too much - haha! But I've been learning how to freeze them and store them for later use. The grains are very healthy and produces an excellent water kefir!

mmccc: I carefully followed the instructions. These grains grew and grew and grew. I truly have a gallon pickle jar full of grains in under 30 days! It says they are active - I can confirm they are indeed active. I was concerned because they arrived in blistering great plains heat. I treated them with care, speaking encouragingly to them. They wildly exceeded my expectations; we are enjoying water kefir in great abundance and our guts are very happy. Because there are thousands of great recipes for flavor variations we are unlikely to grow bored anytime soon. I'm encouraging friends to try fermenting - partly to find good homes for my enthusiastic grains! All good. Good grains, good guts, good flavors, good golly, I have a lot of grains. Loving our healthy, homemade, satisfying beverages this summer. Thanks so much for a great product.

They arrived beautifully packed, in good health, and ready to use straight of out of the container. It's only been an hour and I can see activity starting. Great grains! Great packaging!

KitchenWitch: Like many of you, I never knew there was such a thing as kefir water. I was only aware of the milky kefir occasionally found in health food stores. I was intrigued by the idea of a simple-to-make kefir water, so I purchased these kefir grains, in hopes that the probiotic water will help with overall gut health. The package shipped quickly, and knowing that they're perishable, I unpacked them right away. The grains appeared to be vibrantly fresh, at least to my untrained eye.
As this was my first time making kefir water, I was nervous. I don't have a green thumb AT ALL. I know these aren't plants per se, but still, I was afraid I was going to kill them immediately. After unpacking, I placed the grains in a bowl of room-temperature tap water to rest for 20-30 minutes. I'm grateful to live in an area that has good, mineral-rich, non-chlorinated well-water, so I used tap water instead of bottled spring water.
