Anon: My advice would be make it a quick read and then go back to the beginning and take the actions suggested step by step.

KMac: I've literally just finished reading Marisa's book and, while I don't normally write reviews, I really felt as though I had to write one for this incredible book. Do not be fooled by the fact that it might be shorter than your average self-help book- it truly packs a punch, and has really influenced my life and even the words I'm saying in the space of days. The knowledge that we are in control of our thoughts might not seem like a new concept, but this book really shows the extent of how our thoughts can influence our lives. I've always thought of myself as quite a positive person, but I can definitely see how my thoughts might have unknowingly kept me stuck.
The thing I like about this book is that Peer doesn't lecture us or berate us for being the way we are- through examples and simple (often humorous!) explanations, you can instantly see how your thoughts might have impacted your past or present actions. Again, there is no blame here, and I really love Marisa's writing style- very informed, but also like having a chat with a friend. I've read several self-helps books, and often come away feeling that I'll just never be enough or as 'spiritual' as the people writing...

"Baz" Shakespeare: I haven't read the whole book but I have followed Marisa Peer for a while now and very recently experienced her in a live context thanks to her recent discovery day and - wow - what a revelation that was but I'm not here to talk about that, but rather this book, a slender tome which contains many insights into having a happy and healthy life. If the title doesn't grab you have a look at the chapter headings which will give you an idea of the scope of what's within:
1 Hell is not your morning commute
2 Why Babies aren't afraid of Flying
3 Why you don't want to be a lottery winner
4 To be successful, do this first
5 There are no shortcut - but there is only one guarantee
6 Your mind is like a classroom of three-year-olds
7 We are caveman bodies living in modern times
8 The biggest challenge to enjoying happiness and inner peace
9 Criticism withers; praise builds
10 Sing your own song
11 Building a loving relationship starts with yourself
12 Putting it all together to create an incredible life
Like I said I haven't read it yet but I gifted a copy of the book to a friend who is a member of AA and quite resistant to fads in terms of...
