All in all a good little radio for your go bag. I bought one for myself and one for my grandson

Book Lover: I was super happy with it when I first received it, but now a month later, I can no longer charge my iphone with it. It's still possible to charge other things, such as my Kindle via the usb port, just not my phone - which was one of the main reasons for my purchase. The device recognizes that the phone cable is plugged in, and the charge light flashes on on my phone, but now it immediately goes off again. i tried using a different cable and same problem. Perhaps I also just received a defective model? Any suggestions?

D. Duke: I purchased this weather radio for my 90 year old aunt. She has trouble hearing and cannot see to read. I wanted a digital radio that would lock in on a channel and stay there, not one with a dial that you have to tune. The volume is one that she can easily hear. Many of the small weather radios have to be turned to the type of station and be reset each time it's turned on, requiring the user to push the on button, the station button 3 times to get to the weather station. This radio stays where you last used it which is a big plus. I can set it and all she has to do is feel for the on/off button. I highly recommend this radio (after buying several very similar (3), each with it's own issues), especially for someone who needs something user-friendly.

jesse: Have been trying to use this since received in January, and thought from the very start they sent me a returned and/or defective model. It has had battery and reception issues since day 1 and has not been getting any better unfortunately. I would gladly return this to try another one and see if its any different. I Had a better smaller radio that I Left at a jobsite 15 months or so ago and thought this would have been a good replacement because of the hand crank for camping circumstances.

Bradley Frizzell: This is a really great emergency radio. It had the essential features like the emergency broadcast stations, solar panel and hand crank to make sure in a power outage, you have something to hear what is going on. It also has a really loud SOS mode so if you ever get trapped somewhere that you can't get out this thing will go through some walls to let people know where you are.
Where it really exceeds is the helpfulness to bring this along on any camping trip is that you can charge your cell phone with the USB port. It has a bright LED flashlight. The FM speaker itself is really exceptional. It is a really clear audio and can be turned up to almost party speaker. It also has a nice bottle opener.

JB: I recently purchased the NW3 as a backup emergency radio. The radio is small and feels very solid. It receives AM, FM, and NOAA weather frequencies. It has surprisingly good sound for such a small radio. The FM and NOAA reception is excellent. It has a built in rechargeable battery which can be charged from a USB adapter, the hand crank, or the solar panel. It also accepts 3 AAA batteries. I have found no need to use AAA batteries as the internal battery has excellent life. There is a very bright LED flashlight as well. It has a standard USB port which you can use to charge your phone or other devices. The solar panel keeps the battery topped up when placed near a window. This is a great all around portable radio even for non-emergency use. I'm using it daily for news and music.
