This C. Crane CC Pocket AM FM and NOAA Weather Radio is one of the best Weather Radios on the market. With its light output, value for money, and ease of use, you can't go wrong. Plus, its built-in high-quality speaker offers great sound and its five one-touch memory presets make it incredibly convenient. Best of all, this pocket-sized radio offers enhanced portability, making it ideal for on-the-go use. Thanks to its battery efficiency, you can be sure that you won't run out of power while using it.Rebecca: C. Crane CC Pocket AM?FM Radio with weather, clock and sleep timer and external speaker is great! The wide ranging volume control lets you fine tune its volume, which is great if you want to listen while resting your eyes or going to sleep. You can get it whisper quiet or really loud. All other radios have a narrow range of volume that is not as user friendly as this one. While I don't use the external speaker, preferring to use headphones, it is nice to know it is there when you need it. The supplied ear buds, while of fine quality, are not my cup of tea, as I prefer on the ear soft foam headphones over in ear buds, so I don't use the supplied ear buds. Pulls in stations really well and battery life is excellent. Small size makes it easy to put in a pocket. Has a lock feature so once you select a station, you won't accidently tune off it if you inadvertently hit a button.

Bobby: I love this radio. They pretty much thought of every feature you need in a pocket radio.
There is a lockout switch so you don't accidently switch stations, but allows you to still adjust the volume.
There are 5 memory store buttons for AM and FM and are a great way to quickly check your favorite stations.
Uses 2 AA batteries that last for like 70 plus hours on Alkaline.
Speaker/Mono/Stereo (headphones) switch
You can tune up and down manually or scan by holding the up or down tuning buttons and radio will stop on the next active station. You can then store the station by holding one of the 5 memory keys (hold until it beeps) to store it into memory.
The 3 position Speaker/Mono/Stereo (Headphone) switch (in Mono you can hear everything with just 1 earbud) came in handy because I took an old pair of stereo buds and cut off one side to use as mono buds for safety when I'm walking. With the switch on mono I'll hear both channel contents in one ear. Not necessary on AM but essential on FM. The radio comes with a nice pair of C Crane stereo earbuds that sound great and are a nice added feature.
The clock keeps good time and stays on even when radio is off, I...

Christopher Fotos: Just received this and overall I love it. However, if you look directly at the LCD display, it is slightly fuzzy, an effect that is more obvious in the dark when you are relying on the temporary backlit effect. You don't see a nice sharp display unless you turn the radio slightly away from you, with the left hand side away and the right hand side closer. (In bright or normal daylight, where the backlight doesn't come into play, when looking head-on you may only think the LCD display is simply a little dim).
I wrote to CCrane and received a prompt, courteous reply. I thought it was a manufacturing defect, but this is by design. The person who wrote me said CCrane noticed that a lot of people hold pocket radios at a slight angle facing away as described above, so they designed the LCD to display sharpest at that angle. This is a novel design to say the least, and I don't see it mentioned in any of the product descriptions either here at Amazon or on the CCrane site. It also occurs to me that left-handed people would likely hold the radio in their left hand with the angle going the wrong way for the sharpest display--I just tested it, and it is so. The company guy who wrote me...

ChuckSue10: I have bought several $10 radios and they are junk. This has digital tuning which is a real plus. Love the features on this radio and would not hesitate to buy it.
