Poly Borden: Very pricy for what it is as there are very few cases where it would make more sense to use this than simply buying a longer cable, but it does what it claims to do, which is reach 10gbps speeds.
After returning a half dozen other products that claim to be 10gbps and barely link at 5gbps this was my only product testing 'win' from an evening of shame and defeat.

Digitaltim: For some reason my usb c on Asus b450 motherboard does not work with Quest vr link cable. I bought this adapter and it works for vr on both Quest 2 and Quest 3 with link cable.

TAG: A good product. For the new user, please note the term "USB-C" in and of itself doesn't specify anything regarding data, charging, or video beyond the physical size of the connector. It is only an adapter, a size changer.
Using Thunderbolt 3 or 4 will come out the other end as USB 3.1 G2 for this device. You can't expect T3 & T4 speeds from this adapter. For T3/T4, each end must use a certified USB-C designated for T4 & T3 speeds.
USB 3.1 G2 will come out the other end as USB 3.1 G2.
USB 3.1 G1 will come out the other end as USB 3.1 G1.
Knowing this, the device works very well and has a good fit in the slot-well.

Jarred: I ended up in the boat of people who bought a quest 2 and Link cable only to find out their usb-c port won't work with it for some non-explainable reason (common for z170 motherboards). I got extremely discouraged thinking I had to return everything because when I looked up adapters, I got hit with reviews about how they don't work at all, the image will end up distorted, or that the lag/stutter will ruin the experience.
I bought this adapter after seeing someone praise it on an oculus forum. I'm glad I did. I tested it on every usb 3 port on my computer and found it worked perfect. The slowest ports were the usb 3 ports on the front of my case at 1.5gbp. The fastest ports were the two dedicated mouse/keyboard usb 3 ports on the back at 2.0 gbps. However, it did not work with the usb 3.1 port that's paired with my usb-c. It gave driver and surge errors like crazy. That was to be expected though, as it's sharing drivers with the defective usb-c.
I've only found 2 small downsides to this product. The first is not the product's fault as it's a limitation with usb 3 technology.
1. The oculus quest 2 requires quite a bit of power if you want to play games and...

Scott B: Electrically, this thing does what it says, and does it well. Mechanically, the quality is also good. Unfortunately, it's just long enough that if you connect a heavy USB-C cable to it, it sags a bit.
My workload is a fairly beefy first party Oculus Link cable. When you add the potential for motion strain in addition to the sagging from just being a good lever-arm, I'm a little bit worried that it, or the port it's plugged into, won't last as long as I'd like.
