Chris: Wish I had found this book years ago - the author absolutely has a deep understanding of eczema and how to rid yourself of it.

Amy: The media could not be loaded. The eczema diet has been a game-changer for me! My job as a nurse aggravates my hand eczema to the MAX! But This diet got to the root cause of my inflammation. Amines? Salicylates? I had never heard of them and they were hurting me. I understand my condition so much more now. The elimination diet is not easy as first but it is temporary and you will get relief!

Reviewer1234: Wow! I'm ecstatic! I've had eczema most of my life. It has really flared in the last six years. I've been to allergists, dermatologists and integrative medicine doctors and they all had different ideas which I tried with minimal to no relief. I foolishly decided to take myself off the strongest steroid ointment which I had started using quite liberally and of course my body reacted negatively when I abruptly stopped it. I had steroid withdrawal syndrome which lead me on an internet search. I found this book and learned about the "itchy dozen". I eliminanted them from my diet (dairy being the hardest) and bingo my eczema cleared completely for the first time in years. I'm starting the process of adding things back in to determine which of the dozen is/are the culprit/s. I highly recommend trying this diet if you are suffering like I was. Good luck!

Sumana Ramayanam: This book has been a GOD sent for us. We were completely in the dark on how to control our daughter's so called Severe eczema. Actually, the Steroid creams we had used on her had resulted in a condition called Red skin syndrome (RSS) or Topical steroid addition (TSW) or Topical Steroid withdrawal (TSW). Because of the RSS, our kid had developed a lot of food sensitivities all of a sudden. Her eczema would suddenly flare up for no known reasons. We were at a breaking point unable to see our kid's pain. At this time, we came across this book by Karen. We went through each chapter multiple times. Karen has written this book with so much thoughtfulness and care that she has tried to address the problems for all age groups starting from infants to old people with multiple other conditions like heart ailments, diabetes etc. We immediately started on this diet program for our kid and she has shown a great improvement. We had spent countless nights without sleep. Now, our kid is slowly coming back to normal thanks to all the information from this book. There are no quick fixes to eczema, RSS, TSW or TSA. But this book has helped us gain our sanity back and put us on the right path. We...

Amazon Customer: If your eczema is caused from predominantly your diet this book is very good. You need to make sure your eczema is not caused from environmental factors because the diet will not work otherwise. Substances like Nickel, Mold and Latex are big contributors to eczema and are often very hard to detect.

Amanda: Pros
- Allowed me to have truly comfortable skin for the first time in my life! I didn't even know what that felt like before. I though that being mildly itchy all the time was normal!
- The diet changes also solved my problems with fatigue, headaches and breathing (amazing!!!!)
- Explained eczema and atopic conditions in a way that was practical and incredibly helpful to me.
- The food chart that lists irritants found in common foods is a great tool for pinpointing sensitivities.
- Helpful skincare tips
- Cradle cap chapter helped me resolve my son's cradle cap!
Cons
- The diet is a lot of work (mitigated for me by the fact that following the diet allows me to have way more energy.)
- It took me a bit of slogging to 'get' the organization of the book and the diet.
- Info on baby care (e.g. Feeding) is a bit out of date. Though there is plenty of other places to find info on starting solids etc.

Ettebel: This is a fabulous resource for detailed explanation of eczema causes, skin and skin chemistry, best eczema foods and their vitamin, biological and mineral profiles. It has helpful recipes, menu plans and other help regarding detxosing and cleansing your environment as well as your body.
HOWEVER.....
Some of the information conflicts with other eczema plans and diet sheets
It really does not make a plan simple to follow.
I have a very simple eczema cleanse diet plan and shopping list which I downloaded from the internet, put together by an American M.D and recommended by a holistic nutritionist who 'cured' her own eczema using this diet. This book is too complicated. It needs something equally simple to make it a 5 star rating.

Jane: I have never written a review before but felt I had to if it helps another parent to help their baby who has eczema. My 13 month old baby has had mild-medium eczema since about 3 months old on and off. While breastfeeding exclusively I went gluten and dairy free for several months which really helped. However the eczema came back once she started eating solids and the last few months it has been quite bad. We started the eczema diet (for both of us since I am still breastfeeding her) 3.5 weeks ago. At almost 3 weeks the eczema had almost completely gone, a vast improvement, so I have started introducing other foods. The first was organic natural yoghurt for 3 days and her skin is still great. I will continue to introduce new foods as advised in the book. Thankyou Karen, this diet is wonderful and means I have been able to avoid using external products on my baby.
