JD Mc: This frame is very flimsy & of poor quality. It doesn't support the person we bought it for at all. Save your money & buy better quality than this

Amazon Customer: The package arrived on time as expected. Installation is very straightforward and easy. This was for my elderly mother, and this particular make and model were recommended by the OT assistant of her care facility. I tried it out myself just to see how it works and I found the railings wobbly, and it made me feel unstable even though I have no balance issues. So far it seems to be working for my mom, so maybe the wobblyness of it is intentional. BTW the wobblyness has nothing to do with a level floor - the rails are moving out to the side a bit.

G. Petersen: Had hip replacement surgery and this device has been invaluable. It may seem a bit wobbly, but I'm 290 lbs. and it's plenty sturdy for helping me lower myself onto the toilet, and in bearing my weight in standing up. Installation is very easy.

Robert:
We bought this frame for my wife's sister who was recovering from knee replacement surgery. She told us that it did help her. It's not meant to be solidly rigid like grab bars fastened to the wall, especially with sideways loads, but she found it worked well to provide her with that bit of extra support she needed in getting up and down. Kind of like a walker helps to stabilize a person. And because the support is on both sides of you and equally in line with your direction of motion, I think this tends to work better than a single grab bar mounted on the wall as in handicapped restroom stalls. The frame is supposed to be rated at 300 pounds weight capacity. While I can't vouch for the 300 pound maximum capacity, I can say that it should support most adults. If you have any doubts about load bearing, position a helper to assist a new user until they get comfortable with going on their own. I think most people, even those who are weight-endowed, will find they do OK once they get used to it.
The frame is attached to the toilet using the same bolts that hold the seat on and it was easy to attach - just unscrew the nuts on the seat bolts, lift the...

Gayna:
I had knee replacement surgery, and this was a lifesaver. Yes, the bars wobble back and forth, but when you are raising and lowering yourself to a seated position you're pushing downward, not outward, and this product is certainly up to the task.
I'm no light little fairy, but had no problems with this product.
Perfect solution where you need something like this for a while, but don't need it long enough to warrant a bathroom remodel. Really easy to install (so my husband informs me).

A. Lee: My mother had a different model that slipped under the toilet seat on the front end. The problem was that this other model resulted in the seat pinching and bruising her thigh. Therefore, we purchased this Drive Medical frame. This Drive Medical model was a little wobbly at first but we installed the Stander Security Pole (Iceberg White) (purchased on Amazon) on the right side of the toilet and tied the right front leg of the Drive Medical Toilet Frame to this Stander pole. This stabilized the Drive frame. My mother also knows to depends on the right side more than the left side. My mother is petite and thin. The top of these handles were too high for her while the lower half of the handles did not allow enough leverage. The Drive frame legs have 5 different height settings, however, we needed to adjust this lower than the lowest setting which resulted in the top bar slanting downward a bit. This worked and she likes this new frame. This frame also has 2 settings on the back bar to change the width, we used the narrower setting.
