Also they are great to just lean on when you're busy!! One of the grips to keep it open does pop out occasionally but it doesn't interfere with it's stability. Good product all round.

John Serafin: I am an engineer and found this item to be sturdy, easy to assemble, safe, a good amount of height adjustment ( this one is for a lady over 6 feet tall). Another nice addition is that it does not have to attach to anything so it can easily be moved and used in a variety of places. Good quality item. I can recommend this.

MN: This is a good product but it is just a little shaky when someone’s full weight is on it.

S. Courtney: This does its job however, I would have given it 5 stars if you could lower the hand rails a couple of notches for those of us that are not so tall or perhaps slant the front of the rail downward to give choices. It is very convenient because you can move it to anywhere it is needed without having to remove the toilet seat.

David R. Voth: I have bought two of these safety rails for toilets in a disabled person's home. I found them easy to assemble, sturdy yet very light in weight and easy to move around.
I had what seemed to me like a minor problem with one unit that has been in service for about four months. One of the plastic wings on one of the pin fasteners that the manufacturer refers to as "E-clips" broke off, creating an increased risk of the pin walking out and destabilizing the rail.
After communicating with Amazon about the issue, Amazon gave me contact information for the distributor. I called a toll-free number and immediately got in touch with a support person, who asked me for proof of purchase and a photo of the broken part. I provided that by email, and got a very prompt response saying that although the vendor couldn't provide just a replacement clip, they would send an entire new rail unit as a warranty replacement. The support person also asked whether the unit had broken while in use. I assured her that it had not.
The replacement arrived at my doorstep just three days after I sent in the requested information, and the vendor did not even ask to have the original unit...

Achim KrullAchim Krull: The product is sturdy, easy to assemble and our user is very happy with the support.
However, one issue: the handles are held in position by a metal pin. The pin is held in place by a plastic clip on the end. Three of the four clips have already broken. They are not strong enough nor flexible enough to absorb the strain. The last three images are of the pins. The middle one shows what it should look like. The other two show the broken plastic clips. The yellow arrow shows where that pin and clip goes, with one broken clip in place. If not for that, this would have a 5 star review.

Bedford: As an athletic woman in her early 40's who is 5'6" and weighs 130 lbs, I don't mind the flaws presented with this railing system. However, I do not recommend it for any seniors to use it on a long run. Three weeks ago, I fractured my left tibia and fibula bones (the two bones connecting between the knee and ankle) from an accidental fall off the stairs. Ever since then, I have not been able to stand or walk on my left foot and have solely been relying on my right foot with the help of my fiancé, my walker, wheel chair, handle bars, etc. to sustain my body weight or to get around. After using this railing system around my toilet bowl for over a week, I can confirm that it offers me some safety around the bathroom but would not be enough for seniors. For seniors, I would recommend "KMINA - Toilet Safety Rails for Elderly" instead because of its design, construction, and weight distribution and placement. Below is my summary for this product, "Carex Toilet Safety Rails."
Pros:
1. Easy and quick to assemble
2. Offers some stability
3. Portable
4. Cost-Effective: $46.69 (tax included; free Prime shipping)
Cons:
● Here is my biggest issue. When I...

Amazon Customer: I like that this product does have to actually attach to the toilet. Would be nice if it foldable without have to remove clips. Good height but seems a bit wobbly

TerryTerry: Carex Toilet Safety Rails
In order to secure the sides of the frame you need to inset four the (4) safety E-clips pins on each side. These safety pins are locked into place via the plastic clips that are attached to the end of the safety pins.
These safety pins keep the back support attached to the armrests as well as keep the armrests in place.
I move the Carex Toilet Assist weekly for cleaning.
This time, when moving the Carex Toilet Assist for weekly cleaning, all 4 safety pins fell apart from the rails and the armrests folded inward.
All 4 plastic parts that are attached to the end of the safety pins had broken into pieces and the metal shaft of the pin fell from the pre-drilled holes.
This makes the Carex product very unsafe. There is a high risk of serious injury on this product.
I purchased this product to help my wife safely use the toilet, as this was needed while recovering from total knee replacement. Had this item fell apart while being used the results could have been disastrous.
This product is only 2 months old. This item now rests folded up and stored in my basement. It will remain unused until I find a safer safety pin...

Judith Butts: Very well-made with good height adjustment, but because of the design, it moves around too much, causing the toilet seat cover to close. It’s okay for me, while recovering from a broken ankle, but probably would not be stable enough for seniors.
