pt review: So far, I've used it to clean Red and Mangrove Snapper, Amberjack, Red Drum and Speckled Trout. It's really sharp and keeps it's edge. I haven't had to sharpen it yet. I highly recommend this knife.

Giantsfan510: Perfect fillet knife for anything from rock fish, salmon, trout, or lingcod. We have used this for many trips off the California Coast. My father has a Cutco fillet knife. Very expensive. And we both prefer to use this knife over his. The sheath is not the best, but it does work and provides a great place to store the knife.

D.Langer: Send half the year fishing in Baja/Mexico and found the Dexter-Russell to be a great fillet knife. Spent a great deal more on another famous brand but found the metal too hard to keep sharpened due to the steel composition. These Dexter's hold an edge well and sharpen easily, wear very well and are priced fairly. I use them at least 3x a week to fillet my ocean catch and am completely satisfied.
