Third time pays for all I guess (my third attempt at buying a winder). The cushions are large but compressable. My metal bracelet watches are sized for my 7 5/8" wrist and they stay securely on the pillows with no movement at all (unlike the Boxy winders I returned).
The watches are clear of the cover when it is closed, and are clear of each other. The design of the pillows and the individual winders are such that even outsized watches would be ok (a 50mm dial would be no challenge for this machine). No worries about turning the crowns a certain way etc, the watches aren't close to each other at all.
There are individual speeds for each of the rotors, and individual directions for each rotor as well. I've got one watch at 650 tpd going clockwise and another at 990 tpd going clockwise/counterclockwise. A lot flexibility for different models of watches (unlike the Jins & Vico that ran at 2880 tpd with no variation of speed).
Cons are minor. Opening the cover doesn't turn off the rotors. There is no cool looking blue light for the interior. The winder is large - 12" high with a 10"x9" base (in round numbers). But again, the size...

This is my second watch winder. My first was a Versa two watch winder. I thought this was was a really good deal for the money when I bought it... Two years later, it just stopped. No longer winds. Well, sometimes that happens. Looking at reviews after I bought mine, I see there are quite a few others that it happened to, too. OK, this time I move up to a Chiyoda winder. Again reviews are pretty good. After getting it in my hands, I find that this is a much better winder. Nearly silent! I have it on my night stand next to my bed. I didn't realize how noisy the Versa was because I had never compared (for the record, my Versa stated that it had the "new" quiet Japanese motors)... I didn't want to pay for the industry leading "Wolf" winder so here I am trying a Chiyoda and am really pleased so far. I would prefer mechanical controls instead of the digital controls (I find mechanical controls to last much longer). Other than that I hope I am not in the same boat in two years and finally buying a Wolf.

My initial impression: product was well packaged and looks nice. There was a small cosmetic issue on the top, right, back edge that was clearly caused in manufacturing but it is on the side closest to the wall and it is relatively small and hidden and I'm not all that picky so I can live with it. The door is a little cheap. I wish they would have encased the plexiglas lid in wood to make it more substantial but for the price I understand. The winder itself functions great. I like the programmability functions and the touchscreen is responsive and user intuitive. The winder is plenty quiet when the lid is closed but it is a little noisy when its open, but there again who's leaving the door open and why? The pillows hold my watches tightly and they don't slide at all but the pillows may be too big for women's watches. The interior looks good no cosmetic issues with the fabric or stitching. The drawer on the bottom is useless for storing additional watches. The drawer is so shallow that when you put a watch around the supplied pillows and try to close the drawer it won't close without having to push down on the face of the watch to force it under the lip. Obviously, with three Chiyodae purchased, the product line has proven reliable. Unlike the two-watch models, this one does not require re-programming after a power outage or the recommended bi-weekly 12-hour rest. It merely needs for each winder to be tapped to restart.
