sharon inglis: Super smooth and long casting with exceptional control. Birdcaging is a thing of the past with this high quality brake system. I absolutely love this reel - paired with a Berkley Lightning Shock M/H rod. I don't do a lot of finess fishing with a baitcaster, so I can't attest to it's ability for in close work but for long and accurate casts with relatively quick retrieval, you won't go wrong with this affordable option. If useing braid however, I strongly recommend a base wrap of mono (or tape) to prevent line slippage. But that's true for any smooth spooled reel.

Also, I thought I had a technical problem with the reel (I didn't - it was user error) and the customer support was Jonny on the Spot. Take THAT Abu Garcia!

David Galloway: Feels larger in the hand than it looks. Holds a lot of line and casts a long way once dialed in. Dialing it in is the one issue...the tension nob just keeps tightening and tightening so much that it is hard to get it set, so you go back and forth. The Drag locks down perfectly! Overall this reel is extremely smooth and worth the money, I like it!

Joe Jensen: This was the first baitcaster reel I personally ever bought. I have used many, MANY, expensive baitcaster reels in the past but never owned one myself. I bought this one specifically because I had heard and read good things about it. After having used it many times now, I feel confident in recommending this reel to anyone in a beginner-intermediate angler position. Right out of the box I was pleased by the style and appearance of the reel, followed by the weight. It's not the lightest reel on the market, but its certainly not the heaviest either. Personally I have always liked the slightly "heavier" reels because to me that feels like "higher quality" I suppose. My biggest focus in the first few times I used it, was on the bearings and the spool itself. Cheap reels tend to have "tough spots", this one has none. Cheap reels also tend to whine quite a bit when casted, this one does not. It's not the quietest smoothest reel, but for under $40 its about the best you can get. The other concern I had was the drag and the cast brake. While the cast brake could be much better, it works. The drag on the other hand I was fairly impressed with. Overall I would definitely recommend this reel...

Chung Pham: Pros:
- Really smooth reel
- Very affordable
- Well built
- Looks great
- Snappy thumb bar
- Easy to use breaking system

Cons:
- Handle size is small
- doesn't come in a faster gear ratio
- noisy reel
- no oil port

Conclusions: I was impressed at how well built this reel was. I paid 30$ for it didn't expect much. I've owned couple of Kastking Assassin reels and i will say this is a better built reel. I've had an issue with the thumb bar in those Kastking reels but this reel thumb bar feels a lot snappier. I like how simple and effective this reel is. The magnetic braking system works fine and makes it easy to dial in. It's a bit heaver than the other 'amazon' brand baitcasting reels but I actually like the fact it weights a littler heavier, that means it's not all made out of plastic. I owned higher price reels like the Revo X and Curado and this reel is definitely a whole lot nosier than them, but to be expected since it cost a fraction of those reels. I also like the fact the reel is all greased up already, sometimes when you buy a cheap reel it's not. I think there are 3 things that would make this reel better. One have a higher gear...
