Phil Usher:

Amazon warehouse deal. It was a return so I saved a few bucks. All was in box and I installed in my shop bathroom. The lead wires coming out of unit are too short to do anything with. I took off panel and re ran new #10 stranded wire out to junction box. Ran to its own breaker. The ES8 anode is different than the smaller Bosch tanks and is more difficult to find. I had the part number from manual and still couldn’t hardly find one. Got one off Amazon but was not cheap. I wanted to have an extra on hand.
Pros:
Small and efficient
Heats up fast
Looks good
Had wall hanger included
120v Unit
Cons:
Wire too short
Anode hard to find and expensive
Control knob is plastic
Overall a good buy. I would buy again but I can wire and plumb myself. Make sure you have a dedicated breaker of the correct size along with proper wire size.
Pros:
Small and efficient
Heats up fast
Perfect for shop sink

We installed this 7 gal water heater in our " mancave" and entertainment building under the bar sink. It will be hooked up to 2 stainless steal sinks and a 18" dishwasher (not full size)
Hook up was pretty easy however we had a difficult time sealing the cold intake. After removing 5 times due to slow leak ( 3 different fittings) and 1 whole roll of white plumbers tape it finally sealed.
After reading the reviews we decided to take the advice and also add a way to drain the heater which was key when the intake kept leaking. It was easy toet it completely drain then remove the fitting and reattach without 7 gallons if water on the floor each time. This will also make maintaining and changing the sacrificial anode easier in the future.
We put it to use thus 4th of July with a house full of people and events. It worked amazing! Kept up with the dishwasher and both sinks.
Haven't had it long enough to know how long it will last or the durability. At the moment we are happy with our choice.

Doug Morgan: This unit is awesome every time I turn on my hot water tap in the kitchen I get rewarded with hot water within seconds. For years every time I did the dishes or turned on the kitchen sink it took about a minute and a half of cold water to get hot water. With this unit I have hot water within seconds and it is so cool to have hot water that quickly. I think this unit is awesome. And very easy to install. I just ran a flex line from my hot water fitting under the sink to the unit and then ran another flex line from the unit up to my tap.And the unit just slid in under my sink, set the temperature where you want it and you’re done.

My wife and I moved into a new house where the kitchen sink is as far removed from the hot water heater as is physically possible. It took about 2 minutes for hot water to arrive from the 70 ft distance. Since the water lines run in a concrete slab, even after hot water arrived, a slight pause in flow had a great cooling effect. This water heater tank arrived yesterday in the afternoon and we had hot water at the sink before dinner. Plumbing install was a breeze with the PEX lines. The time consuming portion was installing a new receptacle under the sink. With only a day or so of operation, we are ecstatic. Hot water flows within seconds as the attached video shows. I have a reminder to check the anode after 6 months to see how much erosion occurs. Just waiting for an inline valve to arrive and install as per recommended instructions.
Shut off valve added and...

This 4 gallon mini-tank heater is perfect for my kitchen. The total cost for the tank and the installation was about $325.00—higher in my case because the tank did not quite fit under the sink and I had to move it to a cabinet 6 feet away, on the other side of the dishwasher. This added the cost of two 6 foot hoses, two brass connectors, and a 12 guage extension cord. The normal cost would be under $300.
I opted to abandon the hot water at the sink and run only cold water into the mini-tank. This way, running hot water in the sink never impacts my gas water heater. The downside is that I can run out of hot water at the sink, if I use too much at once, but the upside is that it saves a lot more energy and water. By turning up the temperature on the Bosch to ¾, I have eliminated the chance of running out for my own needs.
My sink is located about 30 feet from my water heater, which is actually more like 40’ of piping. It was taking a good 30 seconds to get hot water every time, and I started collecting the 2 gallons of wasted cold water for my outdoor garden.
Now the hot is basically instant. Because of the unusual 6’ distance, it...

Bryan: My new house never had hot water in the kitchen. It took forever to get hot water because the sink was as far away from the tankless water heater as possible and hot water is now in un-insulated plastic tubes that quickly loose heat.
Now I have instant hot water. The 2.5 gallons is more than enough to rinse a sink full of dishes or run the dishwasher. It'll heat up a new batch of water in minutes but won't constantly put out hot water like a tankless heater.
