Nelly Rogerson: I had a hard time finding barley at Whole Foods?!! I found it here pretty easily, so no more hunting for it. This brand is better than any I found so far. The quality of the grain is great. You get more for your money as well. You can’t go wrong.

JoAnne Goldberg: Bob's Red Mill always has great products, and this pearl barley is at the top of my family's list. Barley takes a little longer to prepare than most other grains but it's otherwise foolproof -- after a few rinses, put it in a pot on the stovetop with enough water, turn the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it do its thing. The process could not be easier.

Pearl barley is the little black dress of grains. It's got a nice chewy texture, so you can serve it plain, throw in some vegetables, add it to soup -- it is popular wherever it goes. I make it for dinner at least once a week, and buy the four-pack so we'll always have an unopened package waiting in the pantry.

Beverly T.: Didn’t realize how long it take to cook barley. This is a good quality and best it seems with beef have made several pots of vegetable beef soups.
Also cooked down in salads. I think I’ll cook twice as much next time and freez some. For salads later. Thank for a good product

joann p.: Its a superfood, we love it. We have been cooking more often with barley to enjoy its benefits. I use barley instead of potatoes in soups. It taste great. This product is a very good quality and its packaged well.

Dwayne E Linde: I bought it to stretch out the rice that I had, since Seattle now has COVID-19. And it works beautifully for that purpose!

I cook it in a rice cooker, in a 1/3 ratio of barley, and 2/3 ratio of rice. The barley cooks up beautifully in the rice cooker on the regular setting, and it adds both a nutty taste and a chewy texture to the rice. It especially compliments Basmati rice. I've been eating it every day, and it makes for a filling meal that doesn't lead to a blood sugar crash a few hours later, which I sometimes get when just eating white rice.

I will definitely be buying this again.
