Amazon Customer: Unfortunately, the very tip of the glass pouring lip was broken off, leaving a very sharp edge (I found out the hard way). A very good product, but I DO need to get a new glass carafe. The small piece of glass (half the size of a pea) was in the bottom of the carton, so I'm assuming it got broken during packing or shipping. Thank you.

pierre: amazon vend au canada et semble ne pas se soucier d'ou ils vendent. il me semble que tout article vendu au Québec et je crois, au canada doit être fait dans nos deux langues officielles. français et anglais. j'ai reçu une boite destiné pour le marché américain et le tout était en anglais et espagnol.
c'est insultant acheter un article chez moi au canada et au Québec pour qu'on m'envoi un produit non conforme avec les langues du pays. ceci n'est pas acceptable. après avoir clavardé et demandé des instruction francophone, le service a la clientele a tout simplement arrêter de clavarder quand je leurs ai informé de cette infraction et demandé des instructions selon les langues officielles de mon pays.

Joy Boutwell: This coffee pot is well worth the $ 35.00. They usually last about 3 to 4 years and what makes you have to get another one is the warming plate starts to rust. I use mine twice a day every day and when we have parties at holidays it is used 24/7.

The coffee pot comes packed very well and has instructions. It does not come with the paper filters or the reusable filter, unless you order that one. The cord from where it comes out of the back to the tip of the prongs is 2' 2 1/2". You can see the water level good in the water level indicator, but it is slightly towards the back so if you need to see it you will have to turn the pot. It has an automatic shut off after 2 hours. It has a clock and a programmer if you want your coffee to come on in the mornings. If not you can just do it manually.

Now the button design is really dumb and I didn't notice this when I purchased it or I would have got a different model number.
On the left you have you have program and hour. On the right there is the light indicator to let you know if the pot is on or off. Also the minute and auto button. Inbetween them is the clock and below the clock is the on off button. I think the Hour...

Mommy JessupMommy Jessup: I've used this machine for many years & about a week ago, doing my occasional cleaning of the interior...it sprung a leak. I have no complaints, my only concern was finding a replacement. FORTUNATELY, right here on Amazon...there it was & other than about a $10 price increase over the past 2 decades...nothing has changed. Because I use the machine SO often--this time I bought 2. I kept the older filter & carafe which work perfectly with the new machines & having the extra carafe has already been helpful. This is more than a coffee maker...I use it to make pitchers of tea & I'm from the South--so I know tea. I had a Mr. Coffee tea machine that was ugly on the counter & awkward to use & taking time to heat water on a stove top is just impractical. I place a family size tea bag in the filter, use the carafe as my measurements which depends on how bold you like your tea as to how much water you want to use...then just add a little hot tea to a pitcher & gradually stir in 1 1/2 to 2 cups of sugar until it dissolves making a simply syrup & add the remaining tea, stir well & finish filling pitcher with ice for Sweet Iced Southern Tea in about 10...

CGR: The media could not be loaded.  UPDATE 03/14/19 - When I wrote this review ... I had purchased the replacement off Amazon Warehouse Deals, it was a returned product. It lasted us a wee over 3 years. Not bad for a store return. But alas, the one I wrote the review about died too. It lit up, but wouldn't hit or make coffee. Worked in the morning and stopped working in the afternoon. I just ended up coming back & buying another one because we had extra carafe's and a reuseable filter. So this will be the third one I've owned in 7 years. It's a nice basic, no frills coffeemaker that worked 365 days a year, sometimes more than once a year.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I bought this to replace my husband's coffeemaker that he brought into the marriage. That coffeemaker too was a Black & Decker 12 cup. It started having a sort of short that caused it to lose power intermittently. I am sure we could have cracked it open and fixed it, but we did not, I bought another one, this one. What can I say? We have now had it about a year and ... It makes coffee. It works.

What I DO NOT like is the button placement. They are in the same place as our last one, but configured...
