Cindy BriggsCindy Briggs: I bought this light for my 10 gallon planted tank because I needed one that was effective for not too much money. I don't have a lot of natural light in my house, and the LEDs that came with my aquarium just weren't cutting it, so my plants kept dying.

This light packs quite a punch for the amount you're paying. I have seen incredible growth in my plants because this light actually provides a spectrum of white, green, and red light that plants need to photosynthesize. It also has a lovely blue moonlight that you can turn on at night! The feet of the light are also adjustable, so even if it's slightly too big or too small for your tank, you should still be able to make it sit level on your tank frame.

The only thing I should mention is that to use this light you'll need a glass top for your aquarium, and that can make changing the water a pain in the neck. Other than that, though, I can't recommend this light enough!

Margaret B Bourgault: This is my third time buying a Beamswork light for an aquarium. I have two 48 inch until on a 55 and a 90 gallon. I just received the 18 inch unit for a 10 gallon nano saltwater setup. Hooked I up, set it in place and was very pleased with the look and depth of light penetration this little until puts off. Would recommend and would buy again for sure! My only suggestion for this light and company is possibly work on a dimming and weather pattern type feature like some of the other expensive company's use. Highly recommend this light for budget conscious aquarists.

Denise MartinezDenise Martinez: This is a very very bright light. I bought this light to replace the old one that gave out due to corrosion. I feel it's to strong for a 10 gallon tank. If used on a bigger tank you should be ok. I tried it on my 36 gal and it was great. I use it all day on the moon light it is also very strong. The unit fits perfectly on the tank and the cord is long enough to use with out an extension. It does have a part to add an adapter however i did not purchase this with the lamp. Over all a good lamp strong light good fit on the tank.

MsMeDeadlyMsMeDeadly: I got mine today and set it all up, and so far it’s working great. I have a 10 gallon and it lights it all up very well. I’ve read other reviews where it didn’t light up their tanks very well so I’m thinking this works the best for smaller tanks. I’ve noticed colored spots from the lights reflection across my table but it doesn’t look at all bad inside the tank and my betta seems happy with it. The blue light is nice and soothing and looks amazing in a dark room, though I am worried about the safety for my fish and the lighting to keep it on all the time.

LydiaLydia: I love this light! I was looking to upgrade the light/hood that came in my aquarium kit, and this fit the bill.
I haven't seen a decrease in performance in the 1 year I've had this, and I use mine over open water instead of with a glass cover. I've been growing low-to-moderate tech plants with it, and it works very well. In a 10g, I find that it might even be a little *too* bright for crypts in particular - without my RCS, I'd be battling green spot algae all over, I think! If you run into that problem, a glass cover diffuses the light some as do floating plants (I recommend frogbit or water lettuce).

I'd definitely recommend it as a good starter LED lamp for the serious aquarist.
