BuzzlightyearBuzzlightyear: It produces a very good response in mid and high frequency sounds. It brought my old Dual 1228 turntable back to life:)

Hadley Ramskill: The media could not be loaded. Loved the sound bright, good separation and digs the sound out. Took off my MC AT33EV at £389 because it sounded dull and lack lustre. Glad I chose this as it is a superb cartridge. A win win and sounds do good on my linn lp12 ittok lv2 arm. Buy it you won’t be disappointed.

E.P.: Great cartridge - clear and accurate sound, not harsh or fatiguing. Huge upgrade from Oyster, not only for sound quality but especially for tracking, with no hint of IGD when dialed in. Good match with Pro-ject xpression table and Mani2 phono pre.

Fred: I've had great experiences with the VM540ML so I decided to give the EN a try as well. Not as detailed as the microline (duh), but the 530 retains the big soundstage and excellent separation. The elliptical diamond does pick up more noise, but also feels more "live" than the ML, which can be a bit laid back in presentation. This virtue is also evident in comparison to the Ortofon 2M blue, which to my ears loses a direct contest with the 530, the blue lacking the punch of the AT cart as well as possessing a narrower sound. The EN is well rounded a fantastic generalist cartridge that can really crank out speed when it needs to. Like the ML, there's no audible IGD or added sibilance on this cart. That being said, I can conceivably imagine someone listening to the 540ML and being shocked that they are listening to vinyl. If that's what your going for- maximum retrieval - step up to a microline shape and you'll have no regrets. Here on the EN, there's a very distinct analog sound signature (and noise level), so there's no mistaking the medium - but that's not necessarily a bad thing! Fully endorsed for the price, a sleeper in the AT lineup.

Ronnie Bradley: Got the cartridge - headshell combo in today and listening to it right now. It hasn't broken it so it's a bit bright. But aside from the brightness, it is an excellent tracker. I'm listening to John Cougar Mellencamp's the Lonesome Jubilee LP, last track is Cherry Bomb and the cart tracks this track MUCH better than the cart I had previous (Ortofon 2M Red). Due to this [AT] cart having a nude elliptical stylus, this actually competes more with the 2M Blue than the Red.
If you have a Technics SL1200 and want a great cart to play back your LP's with, grab this cart / headshell combination.
When you get this product, there is some plastic where the stylus is which needs to be removed. This cart is plug and play for any turntable that features a 52mm overhang (Technics SL1200, Audio Technica LP-120, and its ilk).

Steven S. Poe: Bought this to replace a cartridge that had been used for too long. I replayed several "used" lps that I had picked up recently and was pleasantly surprised to hear about 75% less skips in those discs. This was not inexpensive, but my direct drive turntable and records are well worth it! Service was fast and arrived in great shape
