RobinRobin: Love the lows, really added to the whole experience of my vinyl. I Would recommend this for anyone who wants a great clean sound.

JMW: I selected this cartridge based on reviews, past positive experience with AT products and a path to upgrading the stylus down the road without changing the cartridge body. The installation was very simple partly due to the threaded inserts for the mounting screws. Overhang and parallel was also easy to adjust. This replaced my Shure V15 IV and I have to say I am enjoying the warmth and clarity on the high end and solid tracking of lows. 2 grams of downforce and antiskate made for easy adjustment for that too. The stylus is rated for 300 hours, I will likely move up to the Shibata at that time. Just because I can and am curious to see if there is a difference in sound quality.

DeepTreasures: The media could not be loaded.

Francesco Guerra: I am so happy I made the upgrade to this cartridge. I wasn't sure if the bad sound I had been getting from my vinyl records was just because of the turntable I was using (The AT-LP3) or if it was the cartridge that I suspected was damaged... I decided to see if upgrading the cartridge would get me by before buying a whole new turntable at a higher price bracket ($700-800). This cartridge was everything I could have wanted. It sounds amazing. The installation required a cartridge alignment protractor and some patience (watching youtube tutorials and being very careful not to touch the stylus). Overall, very happy with my purchase and Amazon got it to me in 24 hours.

Urban KnishUrban Knish: I have a been using a variety of styluses over the years, including models by Shure, Audio Technica (we go waaaaay back), Ortofon etc.
The old-school Shure M44-7 has been a favorite because of the tone, clarity and intensity. As you likely know, that option is off the table.
I gravitated to the Ortofon Red as a solution. Great stylus...very accurate, great tracking, looks amazing but almost too good to be true. I found it to rival a CD and almost has a CD sound. At least in my system. Nothing wrong with that. It's quite the technical achievement! So I dug a little into my pocket and bought an Ortofon Blue and have been very pleased with it. It checks every box and I'm really happy with it.

How does it stack up against the Ortofon 2M Blue in sound quality? I believe the 2M Blue is very comparable but has a slightly more open, full sound. But that is listening very carefully through headphones and being super critical. When sitting in a chair, listening in through speakers (I use Klipsch and a Marantz PM6006 amp) there's no discernible difference.
So why did I buy the AT-VM95EN?
I like the idea of an inexpensive system that brings you options of Spherical to...

Tom C: This cartridge and stylus are the best in its class. I hesitated getting the Ortofon Blue over this due the overpriced cost despite its popularity. Spec for spec, this item is comparable to the Ortofon Blue (nude elliptical/moving magnet). This incorporates a DUAL moving magnet to boot! The smaller compact size is what also attracted me to this unit over the Ortofon. Volume output is much improved over the earlier Audio Technica series cartridges.
Testing this item with the Shure audio obstacle course era III test record, it passed with flying colors. In fact, this was the first stylus and cartridge that passed the “sibilance” test at level 5 with no distortion. This means there was a zero tracking error. I am truly impressed!
This is a beautifully designed cartridge and stylus system that will compliment any turntable. No need for an oversized and overpriced clear blue, red or bronze plastic to get a perfect sound and look. The lows are beautifully pronounced as well as the mids. The high end is spectacular and it’s ability to play the subtle resonances of stringed instruments is like the musician is right in your room. Little or no background noise! Crisp...
