My family has a plethora of electronic devices and there is never enough ports to plug things into in our house or motorhome. We have installed this product in my mobile office by attaching to walls with velcro or placed them in tight corners of high use areas. They are extremely light so velcro strips have been more then sufficient to keep them in place. The buttons turning off extra ports allows easy on and off/disconnect of different devices from computers or hubs. The end, smart charging port is great for applying a good charge to connected devices. Our oldest of these devices is over a year old and has survived many hours of use. This is a great, easy to use powered hub.

Corvelle Conedy: Had an issue with the hub disconnecting my external hard drives. I Contacted Atolla through email
about the issue. I received a prompt email from them asking for details, photos, videos etc to understand what issue I was having with the unit. I sent them the info they ask for and they sent me a hub. I haven't tried the new one out yet but this review is really about how cool they are with helping to resolve issues for customers. In a world where good customer service( connecting with humans) is becoming less and less, my experience was very refreshing.

A. Aurelius: I'll cut to the chase; Is this Atolla powered USB hub worth the $15 I paid for it. Yep! ... and then some. This powered hub provides true USB 3.0 speeds (up to 5 GB per second) and has an off switch for each individual port along with LED lights to see which are active. If I wanted to be really nitpicky, I could say that it does not have the aluminum casing of higher end models but here is the important thing, ... this model works better than most of them (the higher end models I mean). If there was ever a time you wanted to leverage the unpaid Chinese worker to save money and still receive quality, ... this is it. And, because this hub is powered, it will support many devices that cannot draw enough current from the back of say, a motherboard in a desktop computer. Overall, for $15, this Atolla USB hub is awesome. Five stars so far! (Will report back if things change down the road.)

FWDFWD: Before I get started into fully talking about this, know that there are two types of these devices from various brands, unpowered and powered, the latter being used or included with an AC adapter to ensure you are getting enough power to the devices connected like you would if your device was connected directly to your PC USB port, except it has to split one into multiple ports, and only so much energy can be drawn from a single port, so you most definitely want something which is powered with an AC adapter like this.
Build: I'll start out by saying that the build quality is fairly nice, it isn't made out of metal or anything, but the ports and buttons are very tactile and responsive, the whole device seems fairly sturdily made, and it's got a nice thick gauge USB cable. The device could maybe be a tiny bit less lightweight for stationary reasons, since it does slide back and forth a little when you move or pull your cords in different directions, or the thick wire just drags it, however, the overall build of everything including the unit, ports, buttons, and necessary wires are satisfactory.
Function: The buttons mentioned are on/off switches for the each USB port,...

Seattle Sailor: For years I’d been using two USB hubs (each with 4 ports) to connect 5 devices, and it’s nice to have them all connected now to one hub. My only complaint is that the weight of the cords pulls this lightweight hub over to the side. I’m able to keep it propped upright by leaning it against a file cabinet, but I removed one star for this reason. Otherwise, no problems. It was easy to connect to my older iMac and works as advertised.
