John Bligh Nutting: This unit was replacing my previous 25 year old reverse osmoses system so all the fittings were already in place., Twenty minutes work to replace the tank, hook up the pipes and it was running. Water tastes even better than it did with the old unit but total Dissolved Solids are a bit higher because this one adds calcium at the end.

zoto: I missed a seal when installing and it leaked in the floor. The water has to go through the filters, which takes a while, so it wasn’t leaking (so I thought) and walked away.
A couple hours later, i found the leak!
The water comes out looking a bit murky but it’s just bubbles. Coming with higher end filters.

Rob: Up until the pandemic, we had been using a large volume of bottled water every week. Since it has become risky to return to the store every time we are out of water, it seemed logical that a reverse osmosis system would mitigate that risk. Installation of the APEC system was not difficult, and I spread the work out over two afternoons. The first afternoon was spent boring a hole in our granite countertop. I used a Milwaukee 1" diamond hole saw purchased at our local home improvement store. I followed the recommendations found on YouTube for boring granite. I made a circular well around the drill site with plumbers putty to hold cooling water for the hole saw. This worked out well in terms of eliminating all of the granite dust and in keeping the hole saw cool. In keeping with the hole saw directions, the hole was started by boring at a 45 degree angle until the hole saw caught the granite. Then, the hole saw was carefully raised to vertical to complete the boring operation. The 1" hole was barely large enough to accommodate the air gap faucet that I purchased to replace the faucet that was supplied with the APEC RO unit. I would recommend boring a 1 1/4" hole. Amazon Customer: When I received the product, after installing it the water kept having dark specs. We emailed their customer service and they informed us that the 5th stage filter was most likely faulty and the black specs was the carbon coming out of the 5th stage filter. They immediately sent us a new one (they are US we are Canada) completely free of charge, but we continued to have the same problem with the black carbon specs coming out. They emailed us instructions for troublshooting what they assume is the real problem and it worked ( but we did not get back to them telling them it was fixed). After a few days they emailed us telling us that the Amazon return period was about to run out and they wanted to know if the issue was resolved, where most companies would just let the time run out then "uh oh its your fault sorry we cant do nothing about it" but APEC made sure we were good before the amazon return period was up. That showed they care about their customers, and their response time was almost immediate. at most it would be 24 hours, and no longer. Jesús A.: Este sistema necesita conectarse a una toma de tenga por lo menos 40 psi de presión, para trabajar de forma eficiente (más de 50 psi es lo ideal). Yo instalé un hidroneumático de 1/2 HP y tanque de 24 litros, que genera hasta 40 psi y agregué una bomba de saturación (permeate pump), para elevar la presión de salida al tanque y reducir la cantidad de agua de desecho. Logré la eficiencia indicada por el fabricante de 3 litros de agua de desecho por cada litro purificado. En estas condiciones estoy purificando 5 litros por hora con 15 litros de desecho. La manguera negra no la conecté al drenaje porque me puede tirar tanta agua, que además no tan sucia y se puede usar para el aseo o el jardín, en vez de eso pongo la manguera en una cubeta de 20 litros, que se llena cada dos días aproximadamente. En mi colonia el agua municipal trae mucho sedimento, así que recomiendo poner un filtro de los normales de cartucho de fieltro antes del tinaco o cisterna, de preferencia. Logré purificar de 380 TSD que entrega el agua de la llave, a 18 TDS, que es el mismo valor de las aguas de garrafón (e-pura, bonafont).
