ChrisC: What's to say. Great way to move your usb ports to a better location when you have a box located in an odd spot. The blue lighted area is super helpful for finding the port. Wish they all were lit up. I do wish the lights were red and not as bright. Red light is better for night vision and not as distracting but not removing a star for such a thing. I knew what i was getting.

William Bass: The strip works fine. The blue lights are a little confusing as they all come on when the strip is energized. The buttons do not control the lights so you really don't know whether the socket is live or dead until you attempt to apply data through it. Most don't have lights or switches anyway so it's no criticism from me.

Mary: I love this!

I recently had to buy a new PC whose operating system, browser, encryption software, email, cloud service, etc. is an "integrated experience." I don't want the same company in charge of everything.

I am just learning how all the features of my new PC work. One feature I really hate is that documents you create and save or open from storage automatically upload to the cloud unless you unlink/disable/uninstall the cloud service first. Since I am not sure if I will ever want to use the cloud service, I unlinked it from my PC instead of uninstalling it.

I keep an external hard drive and several flash drives plugged into the powered Apanage 8-port hub. I turn a port on when I need to access the storage device plugged into that port. When I am done working for the day, I do a safe eject for each port with a storage device plugged into it before turning the power to that port off.

Any document, spreadsheet, pdf, etc., that I download I save directly to one of the storage devices in the hub. Then I take that item out of the downloads folder and shred it (instead of deleting it). Nothing is saved on my PC.

Jeffrey: The product does what it says it does. Right now I have 4 external 3TB HDDs connected to it, and there are no issues with connectivity. I note that each HDD has it's own power supply, so they do not depend on this USB splitter/hub for power. At the same time, I have a laptop cooling platform with 6 fans powered from the red USB power port on the hub. It does not draw a lot of amps, so it's not an issue, either.

One of the more interesting things (I think) is that I plugged my iPhone SE into one of the blue data slots to access the photos on my phone. When I was done moving/copying/deleting photos, I found that my phone was completely charged up. That kind of surprised me.

I've also had a 2TB Toshiba portable HDD hooked up from time to time, and it runs fine off the USB data ports, although I usually keep it plugged in to an extra USB-C port on my laptop.
