Fortunately, I found that placing of piece of zip-tie behind the center part of the baseboard portion reduced the strength of the pull and now it's the perfect strength.

David YarnallDavid Yarnall: This doorstop is good and solid. The magnet has just the right amount of "stick" to hold the door without making you have to pull too hard to shut it. I like the oil rubbed bronze finish. It matches the other accessories in my bathroom, so that gives the room a nice consistent look. The glue that came with the doorstop was easy to use and holds very well. I didn't want to damage my tile floor with screw holes, so I just glued the doorstop to my floor. It has held perfectly. My only gripe is that is very difficult to get the part on the door to line up perfectly with the stop. The directions tell you to "mark" the location of the door part and then remove it, drill your holes and screw it to the door. This sounds good on paper, but if you think about it logically, you are always doing this process behind an open door. This makes it very difficult to mark the door accurately. I am pretty handy at household projects and I still had to make two slight adjustments to the door part to get it lined up properly. It's still not what I would consider perfect. So great product except for the difficulty installing it.

Tip: I have a hollow-core door, was worried about the screws not having enough to grip onto (given how strong the magnets are). Solved by installing near the door handle - this area was solid.

deus17: The media could not be loaded.  This is the second magnetic door stop I order! I love them! Easy to install, super strong magnet. The only fault is the noise it makes when opening the door and attaching door to stop.

We have a window facing north that when open, wind shuts all doors, great piece to avoid this issue!

Janine Howard: This is a great product once installed ... but beware of the cheap Chinese screws. If the three screw holes in the base are not in a perfect concentric circle they will break in shear/torsion when they are being tightened. On two of mine the heads stripped right off. Then you have a broken screw in the baseboard to remove or abandon, and you're in need of finding or buying a new screw. But once you get past this aggravation the finished product works well in keeping doors open that otherwise want to close part way and block the walk path.

John in SD: This door stop had to be mounted through porcelain tile on the wall. Drilling multiple holes for small screws was not a good idea. So I used the lag bolt option supplied in the kit. It was made of substandard material, especially the screw and nut that pull through to open the flare. The screw threads stripped with only the least of engagement. I had to purchase a "butterfly" mount (very common), and shimmed and epoxied its mating screw. It ought to hold, but what a hassle. Otherwise the stop and the magnetic portions appear to be very good quality and have a tough and attractive finish. I think the supplier should do better.

Paul M.: Man doors into a garage are supposed to be self closing to prevent fumes, or fire, from entering the home. This is fine except when your arms are full of groceries and you are trying to open and push the door out of the way. This magnetic door stop solves that problem, it will hold the door open once you push the door against it so you can manage to get you load in the house. However, the door will still close automatically unless you push the door against the stop so you can't inadvertently leave the door open. The best of both worlds!!

riceguyriceguy: Great quality. The magnet is very strong. I used this on a solid wood interior door and i really have to pull hard to release it. I actually felt it was a bit too strong unlike some of the other reviewers. Perhaps the magnetism weakens in some cases or isn’t consistent, i don’t know.

Negative: the screws are terrible as another reviewer mentioned. I drilled pilot holes and still the first screw into the door tore off at the head when 3/4 in. Luckily I was able to cover my existing pilot holes by just turning and moving the base up a bit to drill new holes and use my own screws.

The stubby part goes on the door. It has a spring action button that absorbs the impact of the door into the rigid peg part on the wall. It depresses about 3/4” or 2cm, so take that into account when you test place the stopper before mounting.

The stubby part has a base that you screw into the door with two screws. Its threaded around the rim which allows you to put the spring on it then put the cap over it and screw the cap to the base.

Very good design and i’m very happy with the quality given the price.
