Leonard Rivet: This is a terrific device that works very well if installed correctly. Some of the dissatisfied buyers found that the adhesive pads didn't stick very well. The adhesive pads are designed to help with placement to properly set the screws and anchors. Also, the designers of this device did an excellent job of providing attachments to accommodate a variety of mounting situations. I love this product and most highly recommend it.

Michelle: I bought this product for my backdoor to my condo. I had a few worries before buying this:
1. What if the door is too heavy for this?
2. What if the magnet is so strong that when I try to disconnect it, the whole thing that is secured with a sticker comes off?

First of all, It keeps my backdoor open with zero effort. Magnet is SUPER STRONG. And also, it is so easy to disconnect the magnets; you just push it and the magnet will release each other! So all I have to do is open my door, and push the door a bit to close the door! The sticker is good enough so if you are not handy with extra tools, do not worry.
It is truly amazing. I feel stupid that I actually spent more than 2 days wondering whether to buy this or not.

DWit: Install is easy with adhesive pads tho remains to be seen how they hold up over time or if the rip the paint off if/when removed. But screws are also included so nice to have different options. Magnets are pretty strong (maybe a bit too strong). My main gripe is that with full metal to metal contact every time the magnets engage and disengage, it’s fairly loud. Would have been much better to have some softer material coating around the contact points so it’s quiet when opening/closing.

Caladium: These doorstops are good quality considering the price, but I would skip them if you're looking for a truly nice finish. Up close and to the touch, they aren't completely smooth. There's a roughness and mediocre quality to them, but this is unsurprising for the price point.

Functionality: These doorstops will stay put and have sufficient magnetism, but ONLY if they are installed correctly. By correct installation, I mean surfaces properly prepared, correct installation method given your circumstances, and alignment of the two pieces). I think the reviewers complaining about magnet strength likely do not have correct alignment.

Installation: I would rate this differently depending on the installation method you use (3M adhesive tape vs anchors and screws). If you are using the 3M approach, make sure you attach the 3M tape to each of the pieces Before you test out the position of the pieces. In other words, attach the tape to the metal and leave the backing on the other side of the tape while you test the positioning. This is important because the tape is several millimeters thick; if you test the position without tape, you'll end up with poor alignment. Poor alignment...

PickyProductPunditPickyProductPundit: I was a little hesitant to purchase these. I was worried about the durability of the sticky tape adhesive and how well it would stand up to the pressure of separating a strong magnetic seal. My fears were unfounded.

BOTTOM LINE:
Many reviewers mentioned how strong the magnetic connection is between the two pieces. And it is strong. I was worried that repeatedly breaking that connection would put stress on the adhesives and cause them to peel away. I read that adding a few layers of tape between the magnets makes it easier to break the seal. While that is true, I’ve found it to be unnecessary. The magnetic seal is very strong when you’re holding the pieces and trying to separate them. But when they’re installed and you’re breaking the magnetic seal by pulling on the doorknob, the seal is much easier to break. The torque being applied to the adhesive pads is much lighter because it’s not being applied directly.

I have two basement doors that won’t stay open. One is a hollow core door into a small office. I’ve been using a slide-in door stop but I really dislike having to bend down and remove it from under the door. And that style...
