So, I got 2 months and 3 days use. While it was working it was fantastic. I used it to cool a small guestroom and on days when the outside temp was in the high 90's here in the desert of Northern Nevada it did a terrific job. This morning, however, while I was sleeping the fan shut down completely. So it is a piece of junk at the present. Replacement date expired on 6 August and I did not opt for the 3 year extended warranty for an additional $20 or so... my advice: Spend the $20 and be sure you have the 3 year warranty. I contacted Amazon CS and I am shipping it back at my expense. Amazon will send me a refund minus the restocking fee, but according to the CS guy I can recoup the $32 restocking fee after I re-contact CS. Guess I will have to wait and see how that turns out. So, for me it was a mixed bag. Loved the unit while it worked. I particularly liked the fact you can fill the unit with water without bending over, something that so many of the other competitive tower evaporative cooler fans lack. I am an "old guy" and have had back surgery, so bending over almost to the floor to fill the...

dinesh m alvisdinesh m alvis: I have a home studio upstairs. In summer time it gets to be almost 90 in this room even with our Central AC set to 72. I tried one of those small Arctic Air units, but it only works if you are right in front of it.
This unit is much better. It is a bit too noisy for my recording studio work, but the remote makes it easy to shut off and on when I'm on mic. I thought the water tank would be bigger as the unit itself is a good size. But I have to replenish the water every 36-48 hours. However it is simple as the tank can be refilled up top or at the bottom. Overall a good solution if you don't want to use a portable AC or window unit.

Vicki K: As a swamp cooler it's not so great. I have it in my bedroom 15'x10' and use it at night. The room starts to cool after it runs for about an hour. It was 91 in the room when I turned it on at 8 PM. By 9PM it dropped to 86. By the time I got up in the morning at 5AM it was 84. Not very cool. This is a high maintenance product. Need to keep frozen ice packs available for cooling. Also best to use cold water. The water level is very difficult to see. I have to use a flashlight on it to check the level. It requires cleaning of the water wells even though I use filtered water. Needless to say I am disappointed.
On a positive note it works well as a tower fan. In all fairness, I live in Arizona. Thought I might be able to cut back on my AC usage. Not with this device. I probably need a larger one.

Shannon: Thought this was a good find. Although it didn’t significantly decrease the temperature in the room (my daughter’s room gets full sun all day; in Arizona! So we were happy with a couple degrees when she started saying she was actually cold in her room for the first time ever!). Then (coincidentally??) 5 days after the return window closed, we come home to a strange smell (hot plastic is the best I could describe. The screen shows 1/4 of the temperature and nothing else. None of the buttons worked including the remote. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and no change except now it’s rotating. The drawer was empty so I filled it with ice water (even though we never use the “snowflake” setting. (Which btw never increased humidity) kept it unplugged for a while and still nothing. I’m not sure if it’s even safe to have on!!!?? But can’t return it! Super disappointed!

Miguel De Anda: The cooler works fairly well. The fan provider good airflow and with water you can feel the difference. The remote is hard to use in the dark as buttons are pretty smooth and some of the features/settings are just odd --the "natural" mode makes it hard to ignore the fan noise.
The worst part of this fan is the insanely bright blue lights on the buttons. It lights up the entire bedroom making it hard to sleep while the unit is plugged in. The lights turn off after awhile only when the unit is running but they stay on if the unit is off. This means you need to stumble out of bed at night and unplug it while trying not to look at any BLUE light so you can still fall back asleep.
