Ziggy: We purchased this item for the 2nd time. The last one lasted 5 years, so my family decided to buy it again. It’s reliable with all the information and my family was happy with it. The temperature gauge is what stopped working. Would recommend this product

Bob Adkins: I like the vertical orientation, and the large numbers that can be read from 15 feet away. I don't like the old-fashioned-looking bezel which is far too wide and makes the unit unnecessarily large. Also, the automatic radio clock setting doesn't work. Instructions say to place the unit near a window for better reception, but if I have to place it by a window I may as well get the weather by looking outside. My rating is 3.5 stars out of 5, recommended if you are OK with minor inconveniences.

Elaine Watkins: I used this to replace a display provided by my cable company when I dropped them. When this one arrived, it took little or no time to set it up. My only decision was, Hang it on the wall or prop it on the table? I put it on the table, where the old one had been, and it serves its purpose well. It comes with a sensor that you have to install outside, relatively close to the house. In my case, "install" meant use a twist-tie and hang it from the bottom of a chair out on the porch, directly out the window next to the display unit -- probably 3 ft. The sensor requires batteries. But the display unit runs on electricity. It takes batteries as a backup. The manufacturer strongly suggests relying on electric power as the primary source. We don't get too many power outages where I live. If you do, the batteries will keep it running. After I installed the sensor, I came back into the house and noticed that the temperature reading looked totally wrong. But minute by minute, I watched it adjust to the temperature outside, comparing the readout to what was on my phone. After a few minutes, they matched perfectly. ZuzelZuzel: Lo que más me gustó de esta estación meteorológica es que es muy confiable, precisa y consistente en la medición de sus datos. Estuve comparando sus valores de temperatura, humedad y de presión atmosférica con otros sensores que tengo en la casa, y todas las lecturas fueron prácticamente iguales. Encuentro muy cómodo tener la sensación térmica (heat index) para prepararnos al salir de casa. La función de reloj atómico me ha funcionado muy bien (desde Yucatán) y siempre se sincroniza bien.

Única cosa que “no me ha encantado” es que la pantalla sí que podría ser “de mayor resolución” o mejor brillo, sin embargo, cumple su función y se lee bien.

Para aquellos que se les congele/atore la estación: Prueben tener batería de respaldo en ella. Y apaguen la función de alarma de temperatura y reloj atómico al mismo tiempo.
El primer día se me “congeló” 3 veces la estación, ahora la tengo configurada sin alarma, con baterías (al mismo tiempo que cargador) y con reloj atómico. Lleva semanas corriendo y va sin problema.

radyo: We've had over a dozen AcuRite devices over the years. Many years ago, their outdoor thermometers included atomic clocks, but these didn't work so they dropped them. Since then, with all AcuRite products every few weeks you have to reset the clocks which creep to minutes off.

Finally, they have gone back to including an atomic clock, but this time it works perfectly even 1500 miles from the WWVB transmitter in Boulder. The oddity is that it's only found on the reverse color version (01121M), not the full color option. Go figure.

Otherwise, the readings are gobsmack visible from across the room and reasonably accurate once calibrated. Somebody wrote that the background is gray, not black, but he must have a defective unit because ours is coal black and the contrast is rock solid.

However, a failure with all AcuRite wireless thermometers continues unresolved: The outdoor sensors are not fully waterproof. They offer a big overpriced housing option to overcome this, but you can do just as well for free: Take a large yogurt or cottage cheese cup, punch a hole in the center bottom, turn it upside down and run a copper or aluminum wire through that...

Willthewineman: Buy it. Strongly recommend this high quality product. Clear uncluttered layout. Just remember to buy a step down converter (£22?) as a US plug but don’t be put off by that.
