Reader from MN: I needed to replace my old unit that had a wired outside sending unit. This item was reasonably priced so I thought I'd try it. Mounted the main unit on an inside garage wall, and the sending unit (for the outside temperature) just outside the garage door on the steel siding of my house. I wasn't sure if the outside unit could transmit through the siding, but it works just fine. Seems to be a good deal at the price.

Roger: This is an extraordinary device for which I would give it six stars, if possible, because of the precision of the readout, the capability of the device to bring in outside temperatures through the micro transmitter, and the overall quality of the product. The reason I gave it four stars was simply that the included batteries were mostly dead on arrival. I spent about a half an hour trying to make it work with the included transmitter batteries unable to provide information to the inside read-out system. Finally after replacing the shipped batteries with brand new Duracell AAA batteries, everything flew into action perfectly. How long the shipped batteries must’ve been sitting on shelves somewhere for them to become depleted, I don’t know, but the company should probably not include batteries with this product. With fresh new batteries, this is an outstanding accomplishment of technology.

I do not understand the commentary from some that the numbers are too small to read. They are easily readable, much bigger than print on a written page, and can be seen from four or 5 feet away.

Jon K: My recent purchase was for two ThermoPro TP60 wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer + hygrometer (humidity monitor) units, to add to the three TP60 units I bought a few months ago. Our house is multilevel and this arrangement lets us see the inside / outside weather in multiple areas around the house. Plus, in the colder months it’s super helpful to keep tabs on the humidity level in various rooms for health reasons.

The ThermoPro set replaces a similar set of units by AccuRite, which started malfunctioning after years of service. (Hint: the weather app on my phone was reporting 100% humidity and it was raining outside, yet at least one of my AccuRite units was topping out the humidity at 70%.) The AccuRite unit featured a larger display on the inside unit than the ThermoPro TP60, but the ThermoPro displays are uniformly darker and easier to read from across the room.

We are very happy with these unit pairs thus far, although performance over time is a key (and currently unknown) variable. Which brings me to my first pro tip to (hopefully) push the product’s longevity out further.

HIDALGO SERRANO: Se siente de buena calidad. El display u sensor interno funcionan muy bien, pero el sensor externo funciona de manera irregular. Cuando llegó leía 2 grados más que el interior. Al dejarlo un tiempo, tomo la misma lectura (2 horas después). Dos días funcionó de manera correcta y, a partir del tercero, funciona de manera irregular. A veces lo detecta el sensor interior y después se desconecta. Comportamiento errático. Ya tiré la caja, así que ya me lo quedé. Esperaba más de thermopro.
