Ghost7: Much better quality than I expected at the low price point. Sturdy, The only thing that I didn't like was the card board shipping container it was shredded when recieved. Quality product terrible packaging. I would buy again.

philip werner: The cardboard packaging was shredded when it was delivered. My impression was it’s smaller than I expected, but mostly cast heavy metal. What could be damaged. I put it aside while I finished rebuilding my barn roof and didn’t use it for over a month.
Then I put it to its first test, holding a a bent 1/4 inch steel pin i needed to straighten. When I tightened down hard, it wouldn’t hold. so I tightened down harder. At that point, the cast iron jaw of the vice fractured in two. Not what I expected. I’m 72, normal build, and it just fell a part as I torqued down.
Maybe it would be good for holding a popsicle while you work on something else. Otherwise, I wouldn’t buy it.
