In our case, this was a great solution for making use of the new iPhone/Apple Watch Lightning Cables (which are USB-C) with all our existing USB-A charging bricks that we've accumulated over the years. They're low-profile, appear to be well-made, and are easy to grip when pulling out of the charger. And they're cheap enough to just keep one attached to each USB C cable. I can't speak to data transfer, since we only use them for charging.
