prototyper: This is a super way to have hot water without having to use a lot of power to keep a water tank full of water hot, even when you’re not using it.

Ontario Canada: I have used several different brands of point of use electric water heaters. they have all come up short. this works well, almost instant HOT water. The other brands tried supplied very little hot water and took longer to heat up. all thumbs up

jlm: Bought this product to replace an older Rheem unit in our horse barn. The unit does outperform the former Rheem unit.
We have limited power available, so needed a unit that could be installed on a 40amp breaker. We live in New England with cold groundwater. At full-force, the hot water cone out temperate/warm. You can get hotter water by slowing the flow, but you will have lower water pressure. The water heater is perfect for our needs. However, if you are looking for the water to be Hot at a higher pressure, then this unit may not be powerful enough.
We did have a professional plumber install the unit, so I can not comment on the ease for a DIYer.

geoarch2002: The following review was submitted after 2.5 months of use of the Stiebel Eltron 224201 point-of-use tankless heater. This review will be of particular importance to others with a demand controller. I originally purchased this unit in order to (1) reduce water consumption while waiting for hot water, (2) reduce the amount of demand on the home’s water heater, and (3) potentially reduce my electric bill (by using less hot water). Well water enters the house at 49 degrees. It is important to note that the unit was installed under a kitchen sink in an all-electric home that has a demand controller installed. During peak hours of electricity use the demand controller shuts down specific circuits (mostly electric baseboard heaters) on an alternating basis if demand exceeds a preset level. I first connected the tankless unit to the cold-water line. After two months of use it was causing a number of problems. As others have noted, I was experiencing noticeable fluctuations in the temperature leaving the faucet. Although annoying, I could learn to live with that. The primary issue, however, was the extreme amount of power this unit consumes. The only appliance in the house that equals...

AmazonCustomer: Product works well, although it is a new water heater, no complaints on function. Temperature adjustment is easy to control, however it is difficult to see the small numbers around the dial. A larger digital display would be nice as it is under the kitchen sink inside of a dark cabinet. This is minor since we wont need to change it often, if ever after initial setup

Mr. Z: We have been using this tankless heater for about 3 weeks now in a small condo down here in Puerto Rico.
Our incoming ambient water is pretty warm - like around 72-76 degrees F. So it really does not need to rise that much for the necessary hot water. This unit has a temp control on the front that goes to 140F. We have it set @ 140. For our needs this is a perfect solution to replace our old water tank heater - which still worked, but those eventually leak. I know, I have gone through several at different properties. And if you are not home when they leak, it is not good - even if your water is turned off. This unit is def sufficient for us with 1 bath, dishwasher, and a washing machine. If you are up north and used to a tank heater, I would get a bigger unit than this for a whole house situation. This company makes much bigger multi- point of use heaters. The bigger units do require upgrading your breaker and sometimes your wire gauge. I had to install a 40amp breaker for this unit, but not the wiring. Their customer support is very good. I was missing some installation parts in my box and they quickly sent them out by priority mail. Also, they helped me before and after...

Dave M: I used this in a camper that used well water. Got a low flow shower head (1-1/2 gal) and it was able to heat the water to a nice shower temp. The well water was 52 deg. F coming out of the ground. I removed my 20 gal hot water heater. One of the advantages of this instant heater was getting rid of the sulfur smell in the hot water now the water isn't sitting there cooking while we aren't using hot water. The heater really hold a very constant temp.
