Sheryll M. Hicks: Using 18650 batteries produces noticeably higher lumen output; but even if using AAAs you get a solid value in the price vs performance contest. I ignore the cheap nylon "holsters", but they do "add value" for some. The "two-fer" packaging makes for a compelling purchase--ESPECIALLY WHEN ON SALE.

Yes, if I could afford to, I would buy only Streamlight, but their prices are for "rich folk"--not me. Unless "money is no object" [HAH!], these are good lights and would make ideal "give unto others" gifts.

DRF: They light up whatever I need a good bright light on. I actually had one underwater working on a night boat lift repair. Worked (made this emergency fix much easier) like a wet champ! Still working great. My first four have been treated rough. They just keep doing their job for me. Got the two pack so each vehicle will have its own flashlight.

They are inexpensive. Try them. I'm betting you will use them as much as I do.

LoveRN: Yeah, another flashlight that you have to pop in AAA batteries every so often and unless the AAA batteries are rechargable you just toss them and pop in some new ones, but this is different because it also come with the optional tube to use the newer, USB rechargable 18650 batteries! So even though this is a battery powered light it is also rechargable and no need to buy a battery charger!

Great bright compact enough to carry in say a coat pocket or backpack. Can't beat the price. Sturdy metal. The threading for the bulb and battery felt a little rough. I hope it won't break after a few times unscrewing it.

Pat Beals: I bought two pairs of these to take with us on a safari in South Africa, and I was so glad that I did!
This small flashlight comes in a carrycase that clipped onto my jeans belt buckle, insuring quick access to it when any of us spotted an animal. The zoom lens was fabulous, enabling us to see way out into the bush to detect wildebeest, impala, lions, elephants, etc. We were able to see the leafs that the giraffes were stretching so high upwards to eat. When I was using the regular lens I spotted a large male lion; and with the zoom lens we followed him thru the bush, kind of hit as miss, as he went deeper into the gnarly bush. Walking around camp after dark with the LED light, we were able to stay on the path and not step into anything we would regret. The LED light feature of this little flash lite, as well as the zoom feature are fabulous! This is a handy little gadget that really helps.

Emily: I bought a 2 pack of these to keep in my car and around the house. I've used this when in my garage messing with my car and it really is bright. I like all the settings on the flashlight as well as you can switch between high, medium, low, strobe and SOS signals. You can also adjust the spotlight radius to be larger or smaller. One function on the flashlight is it remembers your last setting (as long as you dont immediately click it back on), so if you used it on the high light and then come back later, it will still be on the high light. I really like this setting because a lot of flashlights force you to cycle through all the light cycles again to get back to the previous one you used. The size and brightness on this would make it easy for me to recommend. I've had this around 4 months and neither of my flashlights have died yet. I don't use it every day but I have used them quite a bit around the car or house. It uses 3 AAA batteries. I would definitely recommend this as a portable flashlight for the home or car, or could be a nice stocking stuffer gift for someone.

Garry: I love how bright this flashlight is and I like how it can take AAA batteries or the 18650’s. I also like the carrier that comes with it and and be easily clipped onto your belt.
