Spencer: This is a great low cost espresso machine. The pump is powerful enough to produce a perfect tasty cup of espresso that reveals all the layers of flavor without sourness or bitterness. It brings out the smoky, sweet , chocolate and caramel of a fresh roasted quality coffee. There are some rules to use this machine. First, the basket holds enough coffee for two shots. You must fill the basket and tamp it down properly. You can't get a good shot trying just to fill it with one shot of coffee. Second, this machine doesn't time the shot. You press the pump button to start and must press it again to stop. You should get a good 250 ml beaker and pump about 75-100 ml before pressing the pump button again to stop the pump. Experience will help you pull the perfect shot. Third, before putting the basket on the coffee maker, pump some water through to heat the head first. Fourth, the basket is a portafilter. It creates a great head of beautiful crema but it requires a little extra care to clean. anderson: This product worked fine for a few months, then it started leaking. During the brew phase, water would drip out of the steam wand, even though the valve was turned off. The problem got worse, and if I tried to use the frother, scalding water would shoot out of the frother tube, even when it was turned off. I sent Gevi a message describing the problem. They sent a video complete with Chinese narration describing how to remove the dial, turn the valve shut, and replace the dial. Problem is with the actual valve... you can spin it completely around and around, it would not shut off. Gevi kept telling me remove the dial and replace it. I explained that even with the dial removed, the valve would just spin and not shut off the flow of hot water or steam. They refused any further help, and just repeated their instructions. I checked Gevi with the BBB... they have an 'F' rating. They do not stand by their warranty, and expect you to repair their defective machine. I finally gave up, and tossed it in the garbage (it's not recyclable). Waste of money that lasted 6 months. I will never buy anything from Gevi again, and believe Amazon shouldn't sell junk like this.

MAMA: The media could not be loaded.  I bought a couple of over $300 De’Longui expresso machines and although they are pretty they are not good if you need to make more than the morning coffee a day. Both broke down. The company sent me a new one that eventually broke as well within a year. So tired of expending money I got this one and I have to say that it exceeded my expectations. It has a nice look and the coffee has a bit of foam on top like those expensive expresso machines. Not even the De’Longui could
make that. I have not used the milk foam arm yet because I have another kitchen tool for this that I love (you can see in picture next to this machine) but seems like it has good pressure. When you press the go button to start brewing it does not stop automatically. Which can be good and bad depending on your taste bcs you can control how much you want to make but you have to stay there and stop it or it will over flow.

Jay Cummings: I nearly sent this back, but I'm so glad I did not! The portafilter kept leaking and making anything but coffee. BUT, after creating the return label, I gave it one more look. Alas, user error. The machine is built with two heating temperatures. Latte Coffee Button, temp (lower) and Froth steam button, temp (higher). If you try to make coffee with the frothing button depressed, it's all over. The issue is the on-off buttons don't have a light indicator anywhere near the actual buttons. Once I was retrained, I LOVE this machine. Press the proper button and you got yourself cafe commercial-grade lattes.

Amazon Customer: The amount of grammar and spelling mistakes in the instruction handbook made me a bit nervous because the some of the meaning did get lost (and there are a lot of Do and DO NOT Do instructions so I really didn't want to skip over any steps), but overall it's been working! Since the steamer will only work for about 10-15 seconds at a time, it takes about 4 steam/froth sessions to get my milk up to my preferred temp of 130-140 degrees. The espresso maker has been mostly working, although if you put in any more than one scoop it doesn't seem to work well and kind of burns the espresso. (For reference, the instructions say to put in 1.5 scoops). Overall, it's not the seamless experience that you might have had if you worked at a coffee shop, but I've loved being able to make my own drinks at home. For the second cheapest espresso maker on Amazon (at least from what I found), this works well enough to make a yummy drink!
