Yost Tools 3" Aluminum MVC-3 Vise - Heavy-Duty Construction for Professional Use

Zane: Awful quality. The whole head was loose as a goose upon arrival, had to completely take it apart to tighten.( it just loosened back up pretty much right away) and the ball housing has all kinds of burrs leftover from MFG and scratches the hell out of the aluminum ball. It’s extremely hard to even change angles because of this and it’s literally dropping metal shavings from it all over the floor. Thing is the biggest piece of ish i have ever bought besides the dollar store. If i paid more than $10 i would 100000% return it right away. It’s almost not worth the hassle for the $10 but i still might. I didn’t have super high expectations because the price and place of MFG but it left me in a stupid awe that they would even try to pass this off as anything else than scrap pot metal.

Adventure Scott: I got this for fine hand-tool work on electronics projects and similar things - it works very well and the 360° ball head is great. It's sturdy for what I do and I like that the table clamp is big enough to handle a thick table-top.

I think if you put a slab of steel stock in it and started bashing away with a sledge hammer and pry bar it wouldn't last very long, but then most of them in this size range wouldn't.

Amazon Customer: I really like this little vise. Living in an apartment, I don't have much room to do any kind of mechanical work. This clamped easily to my kitchen table without marring it, locked into any position I wanted and held parts steady. The only reason this didn't get five stars is that the rubber covers on the jaws deform easily, so they get a little chewed up. I wish they were made out of a little stiffer rubber or fit the jaws a bit tighter. Definitely good bang for the buck.

Could use holes to screw permanent to bench , but drilled it out in 3 minutes
Set to bench semiperminet with 2 small decking screws , perfect
If you want something to hold a car engine or beat on with a 5lb hammer
This ain't it
But if you want something to hold small things very securely
