cameronhudson8: I have this plugged into the back of my windows 10 desktop, so there's no line of sight between the adapter and my headphones. The sound quality I get is okay (probably the best that Bluetooth can do. I have wired headphones for listening to music. This is for communication). I do wish that its driver's could be automatically installed by Windows, rather than needing to install them from the included CD.

Jaime Vega: I've been using it since late December 2020 and it has been great, but earlier this morning I realized the blue led turns off less than 5 seconds after I plug it in and I don't know why. Restarted the pc, took it out and plugged it in again and nothing works, please help!!!

Buzz'n'BooooBuzz'n'Boooo: So I bought several usb bluetooth adaptors from ebay mainly to use to connect to my headphone to listen to music on my headphone (Bose NC700). I am often more then 20 to 30 feet away from the computer or in the next room over or down in the basement or upstair. The main reason for getting BT 5 is because the range was better and I don't get sound drop or crackling. No surprise, the ones from ebay were BT4 with the with the old name erased and a "v5.0" printed on. It didn't let me step more than a few feet away before dropping or not connecting at all.
On this last attempt, I thought I would give this a try. Reading the spec, I thought it was only BT4. At first when you plug it into your PC, it doesn't detect it as BT 5 device, you have to upgrade the driver using the CD they included. After software install and a restart. I came up as "Realtek Bluetooth 5.0 Adaptor" I didn't believe it, so I tested it using Bluetooth Version Finder and it shows as 5.1!
I've been using this for a couple of weeks now with my headphone. Overall the sound quality is great and I can be 20 to 30 feet away without crackling or drop. I went to the next room, basement (right below), and upstairs;...

JimBob44: The price difference to other USB Bluetooth dongles is obviously the fact that the latest edition of Win10 (Oct/2020) does not come with an appropriate BT 5.0 driver for this "generic BT device". That's why they provide a mini
CD ROM. You just have to find a computer with a CD Rom drive and in no time you will be able to install the
"Realtek USB 5.0 driver" to make this device functioning and clean up the Windows device manager. My BT devices connected like expected, music sounds good with no lag.
Just not plug and play.
