QGOO Class 1 Long-Range Bluetooth Adapter

Honest Abe: The QGOO USB Bluetooth 5.3 Adapter works like a charm on our 8-year-old Windows 10 PC. It was immediately recognized when plugged in to a USB port on the laptop and quickly paired with Bluetooth headphones when the headphones were powered on with music playing on the computer. Also, the range is quite impressive, covering our entire large apartment.

Amazon Customer: I had no problems setting this up. I installed the drivers from the USB drive that was included and then hooked the rest up. I finally have internet on my desktop computer!!!

J. Gordon: After installing this unit, I saw that it did not recognize the Realtek bluetooth driver I had installed from Dell. I had also order a different unit for $5 less that did see the Realtek driver, so I've returned this one.

To be clear, I did not have any problems with this unit, it just was $5 more and not the Realtek chip.

Rob M: Installation was very simple. Plugged it into the USB port on a Windows 10 machine and it automatically installed. The Bluetooth icon appeared in the system tray, and I was immediately able to pair devices.
My application is for audio devices. They paired and are working as expected. I cannot evaluate the range; my devices are all closer than 6 feet (2m).

carissa: but doesn't work in Linux , even follow the instruction to compile the driver provided, it couldn't pass compiling, it costed me a lot of time, finally I gave up.

Classic Music Fan: So as with some other people I basically only bought this product because it does WiFi 6/AX and said it worked on Windows 7. And it does! I did have a hiccup though.

Basically the drivers that came on the little USB thumb drive and mini CD didn't work. Pretty annoying. Windows said the drivers weren't signed, so even though it all installed fine it wouldn't allow Windows to use them. Seeing that somebody else said a previous driver version was working, I went and looked for those.

This is where it gets proper annoying... I couldn't find the previous version from a fully "reputable" site, IE manufacturer website. Neither the company website (which is pretty scant) or RealTek seemed to have them as best as I could tell. This is supposed to be a RealTek 8832AU based unit, and the older driver version is 5001.0.13.103 (.104 is the version that shipped with but wasn't signed), but even looking at dodgy sites all I could find was RTL8852AU_5001.0.13.103, note that's 8852 not 8832.

I figured what the heck, may be the same software for a slightly different model, and downloaded it. I installed it and everything was working! I imagine you could email RealTek (Because...

Michael: Overall good WiFi adapter and good speed. A couple of quick steps may improve overall user experience.

1. The installation USB comes with both the driver and a utility software. Don't use the utility software. Once you install the driver, uninstall the utility software. I've found the utility software sometimes bugs out and disconnects to the WiFi network. This issue was resolved once the utility software that came with the installation USB was uninstalled.
2. If you notice the speed is a bit slow you can configure the adapter to increase its speed substantially. On a Windows machine search for Device Manager, select Network Adapters, right click on Realtek 8812BU Wireless LAN 802.11ac USB NIC and select Properties. Go to the Advanced tab and click Wireless Mode. In this option, by default, the adapter is set to Auto. Instead set it to IEEE802.11ac. Click OK to save the setting. You may need to reconnect to your WiFi network, but you should see a large increase in speed.
3. To optimize speed, you should play around with the angle of the antenna on the WiFi adapter. I recommend using an internet speed test (you can just Google for one) and rotate the antenna to test...

Allen K W PaleyAllen K W Paley: I ordered this item because it appeared to be the cheapest USB wifi dongle that COULD POSSIBLY support the operation modes that interest wifi SigInt enthusiasts, so I rolled the dice.

I ordered this item expecting an RTL8812BU chip, at the very least. What I got was an RTL8811CU.
I was initially annoyed, because 8812 and 8814 series chipsets are more common, but I did manage to find RTL8811CU drivers on github from a user named morrownr. Support for the 8811CU chipset is included in this user's driver for 8821CU.

Also on the back-side of the board is a FL128SAIF00 chip. This appears to be a 128Mbit ROM flash memory module which presumably contains the driver files. As another reviewer noted that this dongle automatically popped up a window with an exe file and some subdirectories. The reviewer also noted that a suspicious attempt to access their iCloud account popped up from a foreign IP address some time after the pop-up. There are details missing in the story, but exercise caution.

This dongle did the same behavior on my linux machine the first time it was plugged in, but upon subsequent plug-ins, the pop-up has not re-appeared, and the flash memory drive...

simon: Is good enough to revive an old laptop with outdated wifi chip. Converted an i3-2377m laptop to a stream device for my TV. Drivers aren't recognized by windows, but easily found on Realtek site, search for RTL8812. Its a common chip. Now my laptop stop dropping connection every 5min. Cheap, realiable (6 months) and small enough to NOT block the USB port next to each other.
