WYZE Cam 1080p HD Indoor Wireless Smart Home Camera with Night Vision and 2-Way Audio

Dan: Live in a condo with a detached garage that has motorcycles and valuables and wanted this as a security device more than a FOB replacement. Instalation was easy on the genie door motor and setup took 5 minutes.
The cam protect service is great and got immediately contacted when testing it.
Wifi Range is not great, something wyze needs to address by developing a camera with external antena. Overcame it with my use case by installing my old router as a range extender.

ThatOneGuy: Got this after having decent luck with all of Wyze's other stuff. Installation was easy, figuring out where to position the camera was the more difficult part. The camera's WiFi signal interferes with the garage door's ability to communicate with the clicker, so I had to move the camera further out a bit to mostly fix it. I could probably also add a remote extender if needed. I don't really use it to open or close the garage door over the remote, I got it primarily because I have definitely left without closing the garage door, and had to drive back because of that. This allows me the peace of mind to know that if I do something dumb like that again, I can just check the camera and close door if needed. Between that and the Wyze deadbolts, I'm now confident to leave the house for vacations without worrying "Did I forget to lock the sidedoor or close the garage?"

Barry C.: After looking in a few places for a security camera solution that allowed remote control of the garage door from the app, I found WYZE. The app works perfectly, the image quality is great, has a zoom function unlike other cameras, and the setup was easy. My only gripe is the cabling assumes that the power point is behind where the camera is going to be mounted, so my cabling is a bit ugly at the moment. Other than than, I have no complaints. Would recommend.

Amazon Customer: I had an older Chamberlain/Liftmaster door opener, I had the Chamberlain door opener/app, it was a pain but overall it mostly worked. But on a few occasions, I spent 30 minutes or more trying to figure out why it wasn't working right. The most recent time the MyQ people sent me an updated replacement of their 1st gen product. It was white. I spent hours on my own and with Tech Support trying to get it to work. it did not except intermittently. They gave up and so did I. I tried this installed in less than 30 minutes, it works fine and since I already have other Wyze products, I have one fewer app on my phone. And the Chamberlin product seemed to need permission over the web to open or close.

zielotzielot: The installation was not difficult. I had to connect the opener controller to my ancient Craftsman garage door opener, mount the camera (and ensure that electric outlet space was available) and then paste the giant QR code to the garage door.

I purchased the Wyze Garage Door Opener for two reasons:
1) control my garage door with my Google Smart home devices.
2) notify me if my garage door is left open for some time

1. When I first started this review perhaps 6 months ago, the Wyze device was incapable of determining whether the door is actually open or closed. This has apparently been addressed as can be seen in the screen shot from Google home. I haven't yet tested whether I can now asked Google to Open my garage door if it's already open. The Wyze app has always worked as an effective remote garage door opener but a simple button widget for my android screen would be nice rather than the 3 or 4 steps I have had to go through to control the garage door. Of course, effective Google integration would also address this. I'll amend this review tomorrow if it is already there.

2. I can set up alerts for the camera to detect motion but...
