Tekir KediTekir Kedi: I felt that the lowercase that was supposed to go with the uppercase 62162 would be a bit large so decided to get the mini lowercase so that I could have a larger capital and then the rest of the word smaller…personal taste probably. These have a more vintage feel to them as they mimic old typewriter letters. It is a shame that other styles of fonts don’t seem to be available.

I plan on using them with the Walnut Hollow temperature controlled wood-burning kit on leather and only for Names or a word, not whole long sentences. (I have a very small typesetting font for leather embossing long sentences and quotes.)

It will be a bit of a slow process to use these, as one needs to let the wood-burning tool cool down before attempting to remove one letter and putting the other on and then waiting for the tool to heat up - repeat as necessary until project is finished. Both the letter’s threaded ends and the wood-burning tool can be broken if you don’t let the tool cool down first, but then anyone having used a plug in millinery tool for making flowers for hats will know that one needs to follow the same procedures to look after the tool and its...

Alex G. Dulude: First: these work well. They fit in a standard size woodburning pen and thread in nicely. They’re deep enough that you get a food image transfer and the material heats up fast and even.

The downside: they are pretty cheaply made. If you push down with any kind of uneven force, while they’re hot: they will bend. Then they set as they cool and need to be reheated to try and bend the stem back.

For the price: I can recommend them, but don’t expect these to last for ever and ever.
