Cons- The size of the marker is quite small and may not be suitable for larger projects. Are you looking for the perfect wood burning tool? Look no further than the Scorch Marker Wood Burning Pen! This versatile kit comes with a bullet tip and foam brush, making it easy to create precise and intricate designs. The non-toxic chemicals in this marker are heat activated, allowing you to create a wood burning effect on a variety of materials. The double-sided marker is suitable for a variety of woods and crafts. However, it is important to note that the size of the marker is quite small and may not be suitable for larger projects. Matt PolsMatt Pols: I was slightly sceptical when it came to my initial idea ,and whether or not these pens could cope with it. Needless to say, I'm pretty happy with the end result.
The instructions state to sand to AT LEAST 220 grit, however, as I was aiming for a more 'rustic' finish, I opted to just blast the reclaimed timber with 40 grit.
It took 1.5 pens to cover the entire area (purchased a 3 pack). The stencils used were 6 inch. So, a decent area was covered.
Overall, very happy with the purchase. If I had to pick one thing to improve upon, it would be the colour of the solution. You can see in the image that I had a minor spill when the cap popped off, and it left a fairly noticeable purple mark. Perhaps a more subtle colour, or a small pen for a "removal" solution could be beneficial.

Cynthia Hitchcock: Over all it was pretty good. It did bleed, so had to be very careful when writing.

Kate Cook: I really enjoy the scorch marker. If you use a heavy hand it will bleed a bit, less is more in this case. I had loaned out my heat gun and tried using a hairdryer to bring the design out and it would not work. I put the heat gun on it and the color started to change almost immediately.

Debbie J's Crafting Corner: This marker was just too fun to create with. I've seen other projects, but what I chose to make next was wood slice Christmas ornaments with the designs burned into the wood. They turned out fantastic... so I'll be making more!

CassieCassie: Not bad— took a moment to figure out How to use it properly and not press too hard. You do have to prime it a bit. Which I would just get some paper towel and press it into it a few times to get things flowing better. Definitely sand your wood well so that the ink doesn’t bleed too much. I used this towards an Xmas gift I made. Turned out well. You still need to use a heat gun with it, this doesn’t just burn into wood for anyone who thinks it does.

Dan Bonise: There's 2 sides to the marker, one is a normal marker tip, and the other is more like a small foam paint brush. I tried the marker end first, I kept the heat gun moving constantly, but the writing did not burn I to the wood. The actual wood started to blacken around it, but where the marker was, there was a slight yellowish color. I sanded it with a 220 grit first, as per the instructions, and tried numerous times with different amounts of application, but it never burnt in. When I tried the other end, it burnt in within 10 seconds, and without any discoloration of the wood around it. However, it looked more like it was colored on as opposed to burnt. Since it's the same chemical coming out of each end, it doesn't make sense that the marker end wouldn't work. I do not recommend this product.
Edit, the marker end has to be pushed in to prime it, that is not on the instructions. I pushed harder to see if more would come out, and the tip pushed in and it got primed. It burns in ok, but it does not penetrate the wood. A few swioes with 180 grit sandpaper and it was almost off. If you put it on something that is outside, and has to be refinished every few years, then your better...
