Visit the TRUArt Store for the best Wood Burning Tools. The TRUArt Stage 1 Wood and Leather Pyrography Pen is a must-have for all your woodburning and leather craft projects. It comes with 21 different tips, allowing you to create a variety of designs. It also features a dual power mode, with 15W for leather and 30W for wood. The rubber handle ensures precise moves, making it easy to use. With excellent customer support, packaging, design, and build quality, this is the perfect tool for all your wood and leather crafting needs.Guillaume: good in general, variety of heads. however, in use, the heads tend to twist once installed and when pressed against the wood. However, I tighten them relatively hard but I often have to tighten them during use...which is a bit of a pain.

Amazon Customer: This is a great set for a beginner. It's easy to use, with good, clear instructions. It heats up quickly, and the transfer tip works beautifully. As long as one follows the directions of not overtightening or using excessive pressure, there should be no damage issues. Deduction of 1 star due to the tendency of tips to loosen if not tightened enough (finding that sweet between too loose and too tight being the real skill), but that is not a major setback in doing beautiful work.

Trina Smith: Have used this product for several small projects and it is not holding up well. 2 of the tips won't screw into the pen. One is already bent and unusable. I am a beginner and had a set when i was a kid and that set lasted longer than this one will. I will probably end up going to michael's and buying a better quality set for less miney with their online coupons. I do like the assortment of tips and the package is nice except the fact that it doesn't open all the way. I would not recommend this set for anyone experienced or who wants to use it for large projects as i think it would be toast after something big and the tips loosen up after about 20 mins if being on, all of them. Disappointed in this product that had such great reviews.

ezraezra: I had started with some slightly cheaper competitor tools on this site. I found myself pushing down hard on the pen to get burning done quickly and this left me with hand cramps and a pen that I had to replace in under four months. This pen gets hotter and has better quality nibs so that the burning that I want done gets done without putting a lot of pressure on the tool. Sometimes it's a little scary how much power I have with the TRUArt pen. That buttery smooth glide I get when I crank it up to 30W gives me quite the rush. I, 'lest I fall like Icarus, must remind myself not to fly too close to the sun.
Pictured are some WIP gifts for my mom's birthday and the detail work that I was able to do with this bad boy was 10/10. I actually used the same tip for everything which was hella lazy, but it says a lot about how great this tool is even when its user is mediocre.

SCBenesh: I used this kit for not quite two days before I managed to irreversibly damage the pen. There's an insert warning to change tips only when the burner is turned off and cool, which was my intention (although the manual also gives instruction on how to change hot tips with pliers).
I'd tried out maybe five tips without issue; they would screw in and unscrew out with no problem. I'd play around with different strokes and temp settings (15W and 30W, although I wasn't sure what either was best for), turn the pen off, and switch nibs out maybe 10 minutes later.
It was great-- until I got to the pattern transfer nib (the sharply angled teardrop-shaped tip). It only screwed down halfway, but it seemed secure enough, so I tried some strokes with it. After a few minutes, it kept wobbling like it was unscrewing, so I gently clasped it with some pliers to retighten it, and was pleasantly surprised to see it screw all the way in. (This turned out to be a bad thing because it must have warped the threads inside the pen.) I eventually unscrewed that tip from the cold pen, but then couldn't get another one in. I turned the pen back on and inserted a "good" nib successfully while it...

MelanieOldhamMelanieOldham: I bought this pen mostly to see if my husband and I would enjoy pyrography enough to warrant getting a higher end model so we weren’t expecting something with all the bells and whistles. That being said, we’ve sat down with it every chance we’ve had this week and we’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I posted a picture of what we’ve been able to do so far and we’re pretty confident that it would be worth getting a higher end model now that we’ve had an intro into the medium. In the meantime, in order to take advantage of a promotion that was offered to us we’re leaving a review.
Pros:
-While it’s not the cheapest pyrography pen out there it, it does come with quite a few of those bells and whistles I mentioned earlier at a fair price.
-Included in the kit were great documentation explaining not only the care of the pen, its tips, and your fingertips but also an overview on pyrography and how to get started with it.
-Lots of different tips. It’s just fun to try new ones out whenever we sit down with it again
-Variable temperature that we’ll probably take advantage of at some point.
Cons:
-The handle is a little awkward with the overall...
