Before I purchased the book I got fascinated on Myles Munroe and his perspective on Adam and Eves relationship!! Although relationships are seldomly spoken about there are a lot to be learned from the first couple on this earth and Doctor Munroe does an amazing job putting that into perspective !! The book was a no brainer there after!

The content is concise, detailed and easy to read. He answers a lot of questions and sticks to biblical principles. Learning about healthy Christian relationships is invaluable.

Charles Y. Kim: Out of all of the books I've read on dating and preparing for marriage, this was by far the most practical. Myles Munroe does a great job walking the reader through the progression of being ready to date to engagement. Each chapter (6 total) even has a summary of his principles at the end. There were a lot of good and very helpful takeaways and a lot of good exhortations, admonitions, and advice.

However, the reasons why I only give the book three stars are:

1. Because it is clear that Munroe does not believe in the absolute sovereignty of God. In the third chapter "Myths of Mate-Finding", he believes that God doesn't have a specific person for each person - that each person has more than one option for a spouse. I will concede that this is more of a theological difference, but a huge difference nonetheless. Despite this major difference, he does a great job reinforcing the responsibility of both the male and female, careful planning, and wisdom.

2. The foundation of the book wasn't Christological - Munroe clearly loves God and does a great job laying out the principles to a healthy, Christian relationship and marriage. However, he didn't tie it all back to...

Dee: Bought this book with high expectations as i've been purposefully single for over a year whilst seeking God's will about relationships.
This book really opened my eyes to alot of things i didnt know about, eg the different levels of friendship particularly impact me and i was able to better see each of my friends in what levels they fit in and the ones i would like to take to the next level. More importantly was the myth-busting chapter which blew me right out of the water!

As much as its good to feed your spirit with books like this, be aware of the dangers of a single story. God's Word must be the final authority in our lives. I am glad i bought this book - it did not disappoint and has opened me further to the Holy Spirit's leading in terms of friendships, dating and relationships. Its definitely increased and blessed me and i pray it does the same for all who read it.

Running Ostrich: I bought this book many months ago and read it in two weeks. It was good and useful but I wasn't smart enough to really use and follow the main points mentioned in this book, such as, "putting God first," walking the "friendship ladder," and "what to look for in a partner." Starting last week, I was hoping to reread some of the books I bought regarding friendship and Christian dating...and my eyes kept starring at this book, so I picked it up and read it (again), but now, everything fall into place and makes total, complete sense. Folks, to save your time, money and energy, I highly recommend you get this book and the two books below. If money is the issue, save up as much as you can just to get this book alone. Read it and reread it along with your regular daily devotion with God, because the truth is, every marriage should be based on a strong relationship and every strong relationship should derived from strong friendship.

To build each step by step well, it takes time and patience, but is possible, especially with the help of God and Holy Spirit. The best part about this book is that all the necessary information is packed in only 140 pages: 96(dating) 44 (engagement)!!...
