Claudia S.: I got this lift to help with a small overhead crane we have. it worked very well and in fact we purchased anther one like it but with a larger capacity for a different overhead crane area. I always double the pullies, to slow the lift/decent down and to make the unit easier to handle. The winch seems to work very well, and I have no complaints. If we should need another, I will purchase one just like this.

S. Jensen: Unfortunately, the mounting holes had threaded nuts welded into place on the heavy duty metal frame effectively eliminating alternative mounting options needed for my application. The included mounting brackets are too shallow for a standard (1 5/8" x 3 5/8") 2 x4.
Also, the included pulley and hook are swaged on the cable and cannot be easily removed or modified.
Overall, very well constructed with powder coat finish.
Would definitely buy again if it fit my needs

MikeMike: I'm giving this 1 star for now. I received it fast, the packaging wasn't great, styrafoam mess and it looked like it had been man-handled pretty well on the way to my house, not the sellers fault but still. Before you do anything, like mounting this to your wall or ceiling, BE SURE TO PLUG IT IN TO AN OUTLET AND TEST IT FIRST. Before anything else! Firstly, you have to release the emergency stop button by twisting it, I've seen some people haven't figured that out yet. Anyway, I plugged it in, and pushed the down button and it seemed to work just fine. BUT, it will NOT go back up. The controller is very low quality and feels super cheap. Also, the cable to plug it in is only 20" so keep that in mind. I never saw that info when I was researching this one, but I may have missed it. There goes my weekend project, now I have to do yard work, ugh. This is going back and I'm not sure if I want the same unit, I may spend a little more for something with a bit higher quality. Hope this helps and if you buy one, I hope it works for you!
Edit: 3 days later. I recieved the replacement today. Packaging was in MUCH MUCH better shape (2nd and 3rd pictures). I have plugged it in before...
