Sisngood: This is very handy for getting out of the bathtub after you've had a stroke don't get me wrong. However, I have slipped a couple of times because the railings get slippery in the tub. I've used this justice instructed it was secured to the side of the tub, but I still slipped because it was humid in the bathroom. It could have been bad. I'm thinking about just getting some rubber and kind of melting it to the places I grip on but it would be very nice if the product would do this.

Jon M.: My lady friend has stability issues and is a fall risk. She rents and we didn't want to drill holes through her shower surround, and I didn't trust the ones with suction cups.

This one clamps to the side of the tub. It's got a camlock on the tightening mechanism which ensures a tight grip. I've had to tighten it once since I originally installed it.

It's a little in the way, but provides a solid grip for her to get in and, more importantly, out.

Arnold and Margaret F: As I was setting up this tub rail on the side of my tub, I discovered that the bracket would not open wide enough, even though I was careful and had checked my tub's edge width ahead of time! My tub edge width is 4.5 inches, so I was assured by the description that it would open up as far as 5.5 inches, and the setup booklet that came with it said it opens up to 6.5 inches! So why wouldn't the bracket open up as wide as I needed it. Ah, but all was not lost; after continued struggle with the bracket and wiggling the side thing, the bracket opened up just a tiny bit more and allowed me to slide the bracket over my tub edge!
If this is only a product defect and not misinformation by the product vendor, others who buy this product, may not experience this problem. However, if it is actually product misinformation, anyone buying this product for a tub edge width bigger than 4.5 inches will be greatly disappointed!

DWfrom8: I was so impressed when it arrived - easy to assemble & easy to install. I did have to reluctantly return it… the shape of my tub's side prevented it's use with the tub seat - it needed to be used about 6 inches closer to the tub faucet, but unfortunately the tub side is about 1" too wide for the rail. The clamp system is well designed & doesn’t budge once tightened - would be very safe.
It's the nicest looking rail I’d found, so very disappointed to see it go.
