This Drive Medical Steel Clamp on Tub Rail is the perfect solution for bathtub safety. It is made with powder-coated steel that offers durability and is easy to install. The rail is adjustable to fit any bathtub with a height range of 14.5 to 17 inches. Non-wearing rubber pads protect the tub floor from scratches while providing a secure grip. With its convenience, customer support, and overall satisfaction, this tub rail is the perfect choice for a safe and secure bathtime experience.D.J.B.: My wife slipped in the tub, and so I put a rubber mat in the tub but that slips also when it gets soiled, so I installed non slip strips but I don't have confidence in them either. This tub rail is the best solution because it support a person if they do slip and prevents an injury. She's happy and I'm relieved not to have to worry when I'm not around to help her. This tub rail is not plastic but made of metal and should last a long time. It's not noticable when the shower curtain is closed.

smartwalrus: This is a very solid product, well engineered. I purchased it for my elderly parents for bathtub safety. However, their bathtub is made of a plastic material ( a bathtub-shower wall insert) and when I tried to install it and tighten the clamp-on tub rail to a point where it was stable, I could hear the plastic tub make a cracking noise so I quickly backed off. I returned the item to the vendor. The tub rail would be awesome for non-plastic tubs such as porcelain on steel.

Pegacorn: All I had to do was turn the knob to the left to widen the clamp until it fit over the side of the tub and I could push it down. Then I turned the knob to the right to tighten it. The adjustable height is easy too. Just press on the black pastic cover holding each pin in (2 pins), until they pop out. Then with the pins out you lift up the handle, align the holes to the height you want and re-insert the pins! Vantastic! The whole thing is mostly metal but coated with something to protect against rust. The handle is covered on the top with something like rubber for a sure grip. The large, thick screw/turning knob is plastic as is the pin covers (pins are metal) but that will prevent rusting as well. My old bathtub handicapped handle had two screws that rusted. This one is so adjustable I believe it will fit just about any tub. Will be easy to remove to clean it and the tub when needed. GREAT BUY! Highly recommended.

JJJJ: Sometimes a purchase works so well, and is such a perfect fit, I wanna buy 2 just to elongate the good experience. I almost want to buy another of these Tub Rails just so I can have one on either side of me when getting in and out of the tub! (Not that you'll need 2, just a fun idea.)
Installation could not have been easier -- literally 5 minutes and I was done. Just position it in place, tighten the clamp, and you're done! It took more time just to get it in the house and out of the shipping box -- and waaaaaay longer than that just to research and order the darn thing!
The secure and solid fit gives me 100% confidence. If I slipped, I know this Tub Rail would be there for me, rock solid, to help catch my balance. In fact, I bet my tub itself would buckle before this Tub Rail gave way. This is a high quality product made with top notch steel and is very well constructed. I can't believe it was so cheap!
With a generous 300lb weight capacity, I have every confidence this thing is sturdy and is clearly built to last. The Amazon description doesn't list the weight capacity, but if you go to the manufacturer's (Drive Medical) website, they give more detailed...

Robert C. Clark: The only reason I rated it the way I did was because it did not fit the tub. I bought it to put it on my mothers tub, but it would not clamp to the tub because the side of the tub was not wide enough. I had to make a spacer so it would fit the tub. the company needs to make it with more adjustability for narrow tube sides. I recommend this to anyone but make sure it will fit your tube. to keep it from loosening up after a while, add some blue Loctite to the threads .
