Joellen Kirk: Fantastic easy crushed ice for drinks 🥰

mrcm: Works really well. Better than blender.

Zoltan Wighardt: Nice thick material. Works perfect. Just don’t use the serrated side of the meat pounder, only the flat side. Better yet use a wooden mallet

Canada on Oct 01, 2021

JAMES R.: Used it multiple times with the flat side of a meat tenderizer and it works great. I do limit the number of cubes to be crushed at one time to 4 or 5, leaving the bag about half full, that way I don't stressing the bag seams when breaking the ice.

Super recomendado

Mexico on May 27, 2021

B. S.: It does what you want it to.
The mallet seems overpriced, I didn't buy it with the mallet, I should have bought it with the mallet in hindsight.
I have a plastic and metal meat mallet with a flat side I can use instead, and it simply doesn't have the heft I think the wooden mallet would give to crush the ice easily and finely.

Pretty good, I don't know what the recommended way to clean it is though.

Cheesemaker: SIZE: 7" wide, total length is 11.5", but 2.5" flap, which when folded over reduces usable length to ~7". If fill with ice then just enough for two drinks.
MATERIAL: Very heavy canvas, quality.
USE: Hit my thumb first use, sugar! But works great at crushing ice.
RECOMMENDATION: Would buy again and should have bought years ago!

J. Poor: This is for the Lewis Ice Bag only:
The usable bag dimensions are approximately 9" x 6.875" (22.9cm x 14.5cm) with a 2.25" (5.7cm) bag flap (total length including the flap is 11.25" or 28.6cm), so no matter how you measure it, this is NOT a twelve inch bag. It is constructed to be flat (which is strange for a bag intended to hold a volume), but filled with ice it has an approximate volume of 33.4 cubic-inches (547.3 cubic-centimeters or milliliters). Expect no more than about half to two-thirds of that to be usable when crushing ice (the less whole ice in the bag initially, the easier it will be to crush into smaller pieces).

The material feels like a strong heavy cotton canvas that should hold up to abuse well, but the seams along the edge of the bag are of low quality (plain, single-stitched open seams) and will probably end up failing long before the material does. A flat-felled or welt seam would have made a much stronger bag edge, or even just a simple double-stitched closed seam would make the bag a bit more suited to its intended purpose.

The finishing edges on the closure flap are very rigid, so the bag will not want to stay shut during use. It really...

rixcat: I almost bought one of those noisy electric counter-space stealing ice pulverizing contraptions that needs constant attention and maintenance and eventually break down. Fortunately, I pondered the purchase for a while before finally buying the Lewis Ice Bag. I like it because I always know what to expect, it's easy, fast, dries on its own without rusting, low maintenance with no moving parts, takes up almost zero space when storing, and produces the crushed ice I hope for and expect every time. While this might actually be an entry level hand-operated ice crushing doohickey, it collaborates to produce professional looking and performing crushed ice. In the ice department I feel exceptionally fulfilled and satisfied with this economical, low-maintenance, low-tech version of something that I almost spent four to fourteen times as much for. Something goes wrong with this and for a ten-dollar bill I'm back in business. And, in the end, although a durable hardwearing canvas, it's biodegradable. I recommend using a proper ice mallet for this bag as the design of its pounding surface area could influence the longevity of the canvas bag. I got the 4-1/2" Bora.
