Adam Krause: Overall this is a pretty good safe for basic consumer document storage - I wouldn’t trust the Crown Jewels to it, but it’s fine for its intended purpose. The things I like - solid construction, documents will fit in it, even if they’re in folders. The shelves are decent, the biometric lock is responsive, and it’s easy to setup.

The one thing that torques me is that the stated dimensions does not account for the additional 1/2” that the control pad adds. The space I wanted to put this in was exact to the advertised depth in the product description. The control pad wrecked my grand plan, but the safe was good enough to keep and place elsewhere.

Maksim Margolin: Purchased 'Viking Security Safe VS-50BLX' 4 years ago and have nothing but positive experience with my safe. A few days ago, one of the clips (shelf holders) broke and needed to be replaced. I emailed the company and they were very helpful. Got response right away and a couple of days after, I received an email that replacement part is on the way. Can't say enough about their customer service. Viking Security Safe do make great safes, stand behind their product and treat customers with respect.

Joshua Chambliss (JC): very nice safe and works well. I love the biometrics on it .. very sleek and fast to get into.. im guessing in and out in less then 15 secs or possibly 10 secs.. but the led light that is built in is a huge bonus.. i have another biometric safe and it does not have the led light and i have to use my ball cap light just to see what im grabbing and this led light gives you enough light to see on all shelves as well..Thick gauge steel and is very solid and a must have for the homeowner who has either guns/medicine/or just precious metals/and coin collections etc.. it has room for all of these things. and the shelves are interchangeable and have a carpet covering to dampen the sounds of putting your kilo bars of silver in it or a gun if need be..so if you had an intruder then he wouldnt hear you getting your gun out of the safe..lol,,, but this is the fastest kind of safe for quick draws or bugging out or to keep family collectibles,stocks and bonds or legal documents for quick access..like in my case i have custody of my daughter and i keep my custody order in there along with medical info and and highly important documents as well as passports ans visas.. John Smith: Shipped next day took about 4 days to receive was in perfect condition when received. This is a great safe about 50 lbs can be bolted to the ground ( supplies are provided so it can be bolted) very easy to set up took about 15 mins to add new finger print and set up pin. Make sure to setup both fingerprint and a pin to get it out of factory default or anyone can get into this safe just by looking up the default pin. Comes with battery's for both the fingerprint scanner and LED light. Has adjustable shelves that are very easy to change. The LED light is very helpful for when your in the dark. Has a alarm that goes off when the safe is open and or if the door is not locked after use. The keys that open the safe are completely different and custom (they are nothing like the standard keys with most safes) keyhole is hidden which is pretty cool you need a allen wrench to take off the plate that covers it. Very very happy with this safe and affordable.

David B: I purchased on 1/21/16 and shipped the next day. Received it within a week which is great for a heavy item like this. It arrived it great shape with no dents or scratches. I used the manual from the Viking website. The keys to get in work great. Programming the code for the buttons was easy. I had a hard time at first programming my fingerprint because I tried to just place my fingertip on the scanner. Once I put my fingertip all the way up in the sensor instead of just the fingertip I had no problem registering 4 fingerprints with multiple angles. That's the tip right there to register multiple angles for each fingertip. After that it has worked flawlessly and I am almost 50 years old. I really like the fact that I can get in the safe three different ways. Don't expect it to be thick like a bank vault but it is thick enough for your firearm or valuables. It would take hours to pry this thing open. The light and adjustable shelves are a great addition. The only thing I would add is a back lit keypad and this thing would be perfect.
