Maria: I've made several of the recipes within this book and they are all delicious, easy, and to the point.

Kathleen: We gave this to our "hard to buy for" vegan friends for Christmas last year with all the spices listed in the first couple pages and they LOVE it. They've made so many of the recipes and have said their understanding of using the spices and variety of vegan alternative delicious food has grown so much. Highly recommend!!

Gmgilligan: I bought this book and Love it! While I’m not 100% vegan the recipes here are for anyone that want to add more greens, grains, and beans into their lives. Everyone in my house eats all of the recipes that I have made from here. It’s really all just delicious and not that difficult just read, prep, and cook!

kenabe: My vegan kids had this book. I'm retired, and decided to give it a try, although I am a life long meat eater. Now that I've made dozen or so of the recipes, I am in awe of the author's ability to write recipes. All you really need to do is find an Indian food store, or go on line, for a basic supply of spices and some ingredients. But you don't need special tools. And here is what I have loved about this book. The recipes are broken into stages of cooking; they are meticulously accurate (eg, medium heat for 4 or 5 minutes results in exactly what it's supposed to result in), and the spice levels are perfect. I don't think I've adjusted anything at all. These are delicious, easy to follow recipes, and have given me a whole new appreciation of what a small amount of a wide variety of spices can do for flavor. Also, that a person with no background in eastern cooking, can just make these, to me, exotic foods and have them taste great. This cookbook was a real find.

Teresa Lopez: I will preface this by saying that Indian food is, and has always been, my favorite food in the world. I took a class once and learned to make a few things. I bought a couple of cookbooks that were hopeless. And now I have THIS one. This is the ONE. I have made more than 10 recipes so far and everyone has been delicious. I really appreciate all the details and information about spices. Also, the author has a FB page and shares other recipes and answers questions. A big big plus.

Cliente Amazon: It is a fantastic book with fantastic recipes, but the units are ONLY in cups. Could include also mls and grams cause most of the world does not use imperial. "Cups" are confusing and don't make sense, cause I have cups of different sizes and volumes. So if one day I use a smaller cup, I will have less food than the recipe says and the next day more, if use a bigger cup. Fortunately, I found a converter page that makes my life a bit easier.

Bubble: I LOVE this book! I wanted a recipe book that would provide delicious recipes for my non meat and dairy diet. I also wanted to cut down my gluten intake. I love Indian food and love the fact I can cook a curry or dal and freeze it for work or later in the week, which makes the recipes very versatile. This book is a great addition to my cookbook shelf and I'm really enjoying finding new recipes to try. Richa is very considerate suggesting options to adapting recipes to make them gluten free, which is brilliant. She also makes suggestions to make recipes soy free, and process-food free. A real effort it made with this book to make the recipes accessible to all.
I've tried a few recipes so far and they were tasty and delicious. Richa explains her background and history with food and the general traditions of the cuisine. I was concerned about buying so much of the spice ingredients but they were so cheap and well worth the flavour they provide. Also most of the recipes require the same spices! So I've been able to make recipes on the fly because I have the necessary ingredients. Fab! I love that the flavours make the meals so tasty that meat-eaters love them. This is the first...

Cheesenerd: I will first preface this by saying that I am not a vegan, I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian of over 15 years. I am a big fan of Indian cuisine and bought this book looking for another good Indian vegetarian cookbook to add to my repertoire. This one very quickly became my favorite to date. I bought this book back in April of this year (It is now July- same year) and have made probably about 10 recipes out of it- a couple I have made multiple times and had an opportunity to get better at some of the more complicated ones.
I'll start with the overall look of the book itself. The size of the book is very practical- not huge like some of my cookbooks but large enough enough to make the pictures and text very easy to read and interpret. I do not believe that every single recipe has an associated photo but many of them do and they definitely inspire you to cook.
Organization is very important with any cookbook- from the standpoint of technique, I think this is where this book really shines. Most "ethnic" cookbooks start with an introductory section that covers the basic ingredients- particularly those that may be a little more unusual to their target audience. Richa takes this a...
