Jessica R Thomas: Really yummy recipes- I just wish there was some explanation on when and how to eat the sabjis and raitas - this is not clear for a non-Indian person

Angela: I am so impressed with this book. I follow Chetna on IG and love her authenticity in everything that she does. This book does not disappoint…its a true reflection of her. The recipes are delicious and the book itself is just lovely in every way.

Vicuña: I was impressed by a book about pickles and chutneys by the same author, so I picked this up as a 99p deal. It’s excellent.

I’ve downloaded to ipad where the colour photos of each dish really add to the experience. The hyperlinks work well and make it easy to browse. I’m not vegetarian, but I found a number of starters and mains which don’t use meat easy to prepare and really tasty. I have literally hundreds of cookery books collected over some 5 decades, but this is a little gem that I’m really happy to add to my collection. Chennai has an easygoing style of writing which makes the book a pleasure to browse. She uses easy to source ingredients and that makes this an ideal book for both novices and those with wider experience.

It’s well laid out, clear instructions and a great photo of the dish you want to achieve, I’m impressed.

Jacqueline C. Bartha: I've tried several recipes from this book, as well as Chetna's other books and YouTube. She breaks things down so you can make her food perfectly without fail. Her food is also healthy, as well as being crave worthy. I recommend this book, and her others.

peticat: I love cookbooks and this book is very pretty with the photos. Don't get me wrong I love Chetna as well, her Youtube channel is very nice and she makes you believe in the food she is cooking. But this cookbook is not my favorite. Firstly it isn't really heathy just because there isn't meat in it doesn't make the dish automatically healthy. She is using far too much fat and refined products for my liking. Secondly the recipes look amazing when they require less ingredients but the result is very bland. I made 3 dishes; Jackfruit rice khichdi - very bland, waste of Jackfruit really, Okra in pickling spices - I had high hopes for this one but almost inedible, Aubergine and green pepper sabji - best of the 3 but with the changes I made, on its on its just meh. Also to my great disappointment its missing really good classic veggie dishes like Aloo Gobi and vegetable biryani. If you need really tasty full of flavor Indian dishes don't get this cookbook try Vegan Richa's Indian Kitchen.

In tutti i sensi.

Kathy T. JaquesKathy T. Jaques: Best cookbook I have gotten in years! I have made 8-9 dishes already and we are in love! I went vegan a year ago and have been looking for amazing, plant-based, real food that my hubby would also love. She provides great info about the ingredients and my local Indian market carried everything (Amazon does too). Once I bought the spices, I could get everything else at the grocery store! Best leftovers! The recipes are easy, fresh, clear and use minimal dishes.

Diomedes: This book exceeded my expectations, which were already pretty high. For a vegetarian cook or someone looking to eat more vegetarian food, Indian cuisine is often seen as a cornerstone. Much of it is already veggie, not requiring any tweaking, and the flavors can't be beat. I learned to cook Indian food a few years ago by watching Chetna's Youtube videos. Being able to see how she did things was a game changer and I was soon able to move forward and use various cookbooks. Needless to say I was thrilled when she announced this book.
The recipes are diverse, unique, and fresh. In true Chetna fashion they are straight-forward, reasonably quick and absolutely delicious. I cook daily and can say with confidence that this is everyday style cooking at its best.

Chattahoochee Tern: I've resolved to cook vegetarian food at least twice a week and this book is making it easy.

I well remember Chetna from the Great British Bake Off, with her imaginative use of spices and the flavours she produced. This book is about her family home cooking.

I started with the Roast Cauliflower Curry. It was delicious, with great use of spices. I'm about to cook the Mushroom and Cashew Curry followed by Masala Paneer. I think I'm going to have a vegetarian week.

As an ebook it's exemplary. It's very easy to navigate. Each chapter heading links to a linked list of descriptive recipes. Each recipe has a photo. There's a good index too, organised by ingredient.

Recipes are straightforward and well described. Ingredients are for the most part everyday vegetables and accompaniments plus standard Indian spices easily obtained from the supermarket. I've just had to source a couple of things via Amazon (chaat masala and dried fenugreek leaves).

Chetna includes serving suggestions and advice on refrigerator storage for any leftovers.

Strongly recommended.
