Foxymist: This Bluetooth adapter works well as long as you don't need very long reach. It's 5.1 Bluetooth, unlike many others on the market. This Bluetooth works best if you connect it to like a laptop and have it on your lap or if your computer sits right next to the device that you are connecting to the adapter. I don't have it this close and had big problems with reach. I contacted the seller who provided the best customer support I have seen in a long while. I received a different device that has an antenna which solved the reach issue completely. My suggestion is to grab an adapter that suits your needs. If your pc is right next to the device connecting to the Bluetooth then this adapter will work wonders. If not and you need longer reach then grab their other adapter with antenna ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NVPTS6J/ ). Overall this is a really good product as long as you pick it based on the distance you need.

smarty pants: UPDATE: After I posted the review below, the seller suggested I try a different ZEXMTE product. I did, and it's much better for watching video. It has much less latency. It's easy to install and it paired quickly with my earbuds. I would give that product 4.5 stars if I could.

It's easy to install, except the user manual is self-contradictory as to whether you plug the adapter into your computer before or after you install the software. I think I did it before, but I suspect it doesn't matter. The sound is OK, though not as good as with my speakers, which include a sub-woofer. But when you try to watch video there is a noticeable delay in the sound.

Amazon Customer: Purchased the ZEXMTE 5.1 Adapter for my laptop , Easy to install . Has a Good Range ,when you walk out of Range you get a message " disconnected , pairing " . And when you walk back into Range you get a message " Connected " and your back to listening to your songs. I have experienced my laptop slow to Start Up at first , I've simply removed the Adapter and restarted my Laptop , then reinserted the Adapter after Start Up , I don't have to remove and reinsert my Adapter every time I Start Up My Laptop .
I'm Happy with my Adapters Range and Sound Quality . And the Price .

F. LongF. Long: This was bought to upgrade from BT 5.0 to 5.1, and also specifically to try a CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio, now owned by Qualcomm) chip instead of RealTek.

As you can see it does not use a CSR chip as claimed in the listings title, the packaging states Realtek and you will find the Realtek driver installs when plugged into windows.

Secondly this is not _currently_ a functional bluetooth 5.1 device, though both the packaging, the markings on the device, and even the name given by the installed device driver claim it is, it is currently in name only because of driver issues (tested on win 10 and 11)

You can Identify active Bluetooth version via LMP noted from advanced driver info, Windows Device Manager -> Properties on the Bluetooth device, then Advanced tab. LMP is listed as you can see in my second image.
LMP 9 is Bluetooth 5.0
LMP 10 is Bluetooth 5.1
This device comes up as HCI 9.55449 / LMP 9.25805 which is only Bluetooth 5.0.

Both the drivers on the mini-cd supplied and from Windows Update are version 3015, giving LMP 9.

If the device is uninstalled from Device Manager with the option of removing the driver, then Windows briefly...

The Bionic Stan: Prod description said drivers needed only for Windows 7, and my desktop PC is Windows 8.1, so I plugged the dongle into a USB port on my PC and paired it to my Bose QC-35 II headphones. The sound, I quickly realized, was ... odd. Eventually, by comparing with my wired PC headphones, I realized the issue: the sound through the dongle was mono. It was also flattened somehow -- hard to describe, but definitely lacking the depth of even the $20 wired headphones.

So I dug into the package, found the mini-CD, and popped it into the CD drive of my PC. It took maybe five minutes to be responsive in Explorer. I launched the installer, which took maybe fifteen minutes -- ridiculous for a driver, but there it was. After the driver installed, there was no sound at all through my Bose headphones, even when I re-paired them to the dongle. (And that was much harder, because the Bluetooth icon had disappeared from the system tray, and the CSR install had not put any shortcuts into the start menu. Eventually I found a new entry for Bluetooth in Explore under "This PC" -- who thought _that_ would be a good idea? And the settings dialogs were completely different also, with bare-bones...
