Ken Drummond: My wife was not totally impressed with the finish, she thought the stainless finish was more pewter like.
The shower head works as described and looks okay but again not fantastic in function.
The water flow valve and temperature control both work well.

C. YorkC. York: I bought two Delta Lahara shower trim kits from Amazon for 1700 and 1400 series shower fixtures for updates in two bathrooms. The 1400 series kit includes the WRONG CARTRIDGE. I've attached a picture showing the wrong cartridge, left and the original cartridge on the right. This cartridge slides into a brass fixture and it's not even close toe the same dimensions. These products are shipped "open box", so it's not clear to me if this is on Amazon, Delta, or a consumer who returned the wrong parts. Of course this sort of problem is only discovered when you're in the midst of installing the product. The old cartridge cracked when I was removing it - brittle old plastic and a *very* tight fit. There was no option for me other than a late night trip to the hardware store to spend another $60 for the correct cartridge.

Amazon would have take a return within the 30 day window, but that's not practical. Frustrating situation and I'm not sure how to avoid or what to recommend. Several other reviews refer to missing parts. Recommend doing an inventory with careful attention before you start installing. I looked for missing parts, but didn't think to look at the cartridge closely....

Amazon Customer: Had to buy this kit to replace a broken faucet. The faucet was a perfect replacement. The big shower head with different settings was a definite bonus.

JoeTAZ: I'm updating a bathroom and needed to replace the trim kit on a 20-ish year old Monitor 17 tub/shower valve from shiny brass to brushed nickel. After all these years the valve worked fine, it was just dated.

At first I bought the trim kit for the valve only. But, after shopping around for the overflow, tub spout, and shower pipe and head I found this combination kit to be much cheaper than buying the pieces. So, I returned the first kit and got this instead.

Installation: Delta has an excellent installation video on youtube It's pretty straightforward but I was still a bit apprehensive because of the hot water stop. Turned out that was pretty easy to deal with; I had to guess on the position and got it at almost no hot the first time but nailed it when I adjusted it.

Looks: Very attractive and the brushed nickel matches the sink faucet in that bathroom perfectly. Amazing how it made a big change in the looks of the room. I should note that this kit takes on fingerprints and smudges. But, since you're normally just going to be using the handles this isn't a big deal for me.

Very pleased.

Mae1234: I bought this for my bathroom that I had remodeled. I was trying to stay on the inexpensive aisle, so I decided on this Delta bathtub/shower faucet. I knew Delta has a lifetime guarantee, so I wanted to buy Delta. Gosh, for the price of this set, it really is very nice! I love the shower head because it gives you so many options to choose from. The handle is nice and easy to use. Everything works great and looks expensive! I purchased the chrome set because that is the look I wanted. Love it! You won't be disappointed!

Davitar: Bought this to replace a worn out Delta single lever fixture and valve. First I replaced the rough-in valve with a Delta R10000 UNBX. Soldered it in myself as a first time plumbing project. Worked great - no leaks. Then installing this trim kit was my icing for the bath upgrade. Easy to install but the instructions are a bit skimpy. I watched a YouTube video by Tom Brueggen. He made it easy to do.

The trim kit is both metal and plastic. For $96.99 that's a good deal. Other reviews say competitors sets are plastic for similar prices.

The large handle for water volume is solid metal and the small one for temp control is plastic. The Escutcheon ring (It goes up against the shower wall) is sturdy metal also. The Bonnet locking ring and decorative ring that covers the brass from the valve are metal. We've found it to be a good blend of materials.

Smooth and precise temp and volume controls make for an improved bath or shower time. Set the temp and leave it if you want to. It will loyally be waiting for you next time. The enjoyable 5 setting shower head is plastic but there does not appear to be a loss from using this material. Shower heads do not get...
