SaraMarie: Love it, already obsessed. I ordered this book after listening to an interview with the author and I'm so glad I did. It's one of the best resources of it's type that I've found, with an incredibly useful layout, practical content, and gorgeous pictures. I brought it with me to a girl's weekend and someone picked it up, assuming it came with the cabin :)

JessicaJessica: My best field guides have photographs of the species which makes for easier identification, while the sketch of images can bring your attention to the details for iding. Good full description of plant identification as well as medicinal uses. I do wish if the book could not have been organized by uses, an index should have been included to easily find plants for specific use or which anatomical system it benefits

This one, instead of being a comprehensive index of every herb you can order online, or a complete "how to" for every mysterious way to use plants, focuses on plants in my ecological region and their benefits, and we've already had fun finding most of these herbs in our yard or nearby, though we'd never noticed all of them before.
I view the world as a beautiful creation that we were meant to be stewards of. We agree that plants give life, both physically and emotionally. Simply being in and appreciating Gods creation is an important pastime and skill that has been ignored in our culture, to the detriment of our society and of this lovely place we were originally meant to thrive. So we agree, and I'm not offended or intimidated by the author's interwoven...
