I.C.P.: This book is full of so many great stories I really don't think you need to know who Todd Snider is but I love Todd Snider and I love this book!

Lloyd Litke: Todd Snider is one of the funniest writers that I have ever read! His takes on other famous musical acts and the vagaries of the music trade are insightful and hilarious.

John Kuby: If you are like me and can't get enough Todd Snider this is another way to get your "Todd" hit. Autobiographical in that he gives us the story behind the stories he tells in the live show introductions to many of his best songs. Now I am going back to listen to the early songs again.

Ian Stewart: I really enjoyed this book. I laughed out loud reading it and hope that Todd writes some more soon. He's a gifted story teller.

George Crutcher:
Check out the cover photo. Would you buy a used car from that guy? I didn’t think so. When he introduces himself, Todd Snider often reveals that, ”Sometimes I’ll tell a story about where this song comes from then I’ll come back to town a few months later and tell a whole nother story.” He likes to keep us a little off-balance with lyrics like "I ain’t the kinda guy who'd come and break all your records, but then again I might." His songs often celebrate grifters and con artists like D. B. Cooper whose getaway plan involved parachuting from a commercial airliner. He excavates the sketchy side of human nature for its trove of irony, pathos and humor because it makes for great stories. And for the same reason, he promotes himself as a little sketchy as well..
Snider is open about his affairs with "cans and cans and cans of beer and bottles of booze and bags of pot and a thousand other things I forgot" yet his writing is clear-headed as he recounts details of conversations from 20 years ago. He writes as he talks which is a kind of stoner colloquial which reveals an underlying intelligence and sensitivity in spite of himself. The chapter about...

Mr. I. HEANEY: I love Todd, so I love his book, full of interesting stories from Todd's point of view, which is not your mainstream point of view, but perhaps should be.

Shauna: One of the best most entertaining books I have read in a long time! I don't end up reading many books that make me laugh out loud. We probably have all of Todd Snider's recordings and so a lot of the stories were familiar but he is an awesome story teller that it never gets old! The only bad thing about this book is that it had to end. I hope he publishes more stories in the future. Besides the funny parts, he really knows how to endear a reader to the people in his own life. I already want to read it again!

Alright Amazon, you're going to bother me through email to write a review huh? Fine. Here it goes.
This book was a book. It was written by a guy. The guy's name was Todd Snider. The cover is yellow which is my favorite color. The guy is wearing hat and a button that says L.S.D on it.
There are letters in this book. Those letters are put into specific combinations with spaces in between them to make up words. These words make sentences, and the sentences make paragraphs. The paragraphs make chapters and the chapters make the book. It takes a lot of letters to fill a book and, well, this book has them. Words are put into a specific order that make a sentences meaning either powerful, weak or neutral. The chapters on the other hand...those are even more complicated. You need to have combinations of paragraphs to make those things. I already told you the process that takes place to make up words...you need a crapload of those to fill a paragraph. I could go into the intricate details of how they make their way into chapters, but I would fill another entire book just doing that. All in all, the pages in this book turn just the way that...

George: Todd Snider lived in Memphis and played frequently at the now closed " Daily Planet" which was also during my law school daze at the University of Memphis. I caught his gigs on plenty of school nights and he is considered a musical genius inspite of himself. The book moved too fast and I was sad when I read his last , really funny , insightful chapter. While we worry about Todd tempting fate once too many times this book reveals that under all his hippy happy persona there is a thoughtful and caring person who makes life a little easier to swallow. Note to Todd, if you put out a paperback you have to bring us up to date on his " dream career" by adding another chapter. Catch Todd everywhere as he tours constantly with about 100 concerts each year.
