BriannaBrianna: I love watching Josh on Youtube and this book is his videos in text! Great recipes, great quality, and a great price for the information you get. The first section is making different items from scratch that can be used in future recipes that are in the book! The book offers a nice range of beginner friendly recipes and more in depth ones such as a sourdough starter from scratch. I use this constantly in the kitchen!

Nick: Great cookbook for budding home-chefs that watch you-tube. I have the babish one, but tend to use this one a little more. I enjoy the fundamentals section in the beginning, feels like it gives you freedom to make your own dish while outlining the un-skippable steps

David B.: Josh Wiessman, the new Jamie Oliver. If you are aware of his youtube channel you'll know he is genuine chef - paid to do it - and scraped a lot of recipes, skills and experience in different foods, ubiquitously misrepresented in this cookbook. The recipes lack the fun of his youtube channel and are plainly dull. The choices are contrary and extreme odds to what you get form him on his youtube channel, where his takes on the high-street and offers improvements all achievable at home, going the extra mile for at least: superior taste and at most utter indulgece and maniacal fun for a dinner. A Whopper at home?! Come on!!! On youtube he sort of nails trendy menu items (not top tier or new wave foods, generally food that is newly part of any typical Western modern city)
HOWEVER... the book is anything but this...the recipe selecting is lazy and can be described as a total-sellout, reflecting a corporate high-street chain in the part of town where people for the suburbs go because it's familiar and they can't read menus without pictures.
Surprising really, what made him cool and almost recommendable and commendable to suggest to to chefs for a quick dinner, he's one of us...
